Cherry Audio has announced the release of the Crumar Spirit synthesizer, a faithful software recreation of the rare analog monosynth originally designed by legendary figures in the synth industry, including Bob Moog. In collaboration with Crumar, Cherry Audio has revisited this Italian cult classic and enhanced it with their signature style.
Priced at just $59, the Spirit synthesizer plugin captures the distinctive character of the original instrument while offering increased polyphony, expanded modulation options, studio-quality effects, and more. The release of Spirit continues Cherry Audio’s Bob Moog Appreciation Month, featuring significant discounts on products inspired by Dr. Moog’s contributions to classic synthesizers and audio production equipment.
Crumar was a notable Italian manufacturer of musical instruments in the 1970s, focusing on home organs and digital keyboards. In the early eighties, Sante Crucianelli of Crumar partnered with synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog to develop the Spirit, an analog monophonic synthesizer featuring key design contributions from Moog Music’s Jim Scott and Tom Rhea. Spirit was released in 1983, but faced limited production due to the shift to digital and polyphonic synthesizers. Decades later, Crumar was revived and reissued the Spirit in a new limited run in 2023. When Cherry Audio expressed interest in creating a virtual emulation of the synthesizer, Crumar welcomed this new collaboration enthusiastically.
Cherry Audio’s reenvisioning of the Crumar Spirit synthesizer includes all the innovations and deep sound capabilities of the original hardware while enhancing it with modern design elements tailored for today’s musicians and sound designers. Cherry Audio has increased its polyphony and added special multi-voice modes, along with expanding its already extensive modulation capabilities. Other highlights include:
Cherry Audio has also enhanced the synthesizer by incorporating dual chains of studio-grade effects and improving its expressiveness with features like velocity and aftertouch, including polyphonic aftertouch, which works with compatible USB and MIDI controllers. Additionally, users can access over 430 stunning presets in a dozen categories, all created by a team of professional sound designers.
Crumar Spirit by Cherry Audio revitalizes this overlooked classic, offering a gateway to sonic experimentation, whether you are after wild, unpredictable timbres or warm, analog tones. With its expanded voice and modulation architecture, Spirit is one of those rare new plugins that offer an all-new palette for intricate motion and dynamic timbres. The result is an affordable new virtual instrument that is ideal for film scoring, electronic production, and live performances.
Alongside the launch of Crumar Spirit, Cherry Audio is also introducing the Spectres Preset Pack for just $9.99. This pack features an additional 100 presets designed to further showcase its darker and more atmospheric side in nine categories to explore Spirit’s more advanced modulations, integrated effects, rhythmic arpeggios, and aftertouch performance features.
Crumar Spirit is the latest example of Cherry Audio’s dedication to offering innovative sound tools at an unbeatable price. At the low price of just $59, Spirit is an exceptional choice for synth enthusiasts who value both outstanding tone and affordability. Additionally, until September 1st, Spirit can be purchased from cherryaudio.com as part of Cherry Audio’s Build Your Own Bundle options. Customers can choose the Pick 3 bundle for $99 (regularly $129) or the Pick 6 bundle for $149 (regularly $169), allowing them to mix and match any of Cherry Audio’s award-winning instruments for as low as $25 per plugin.
Crumar Spirit by Cherry Audio synthesizer is available for macOS (10.13 and above) and Windows (7 or above) in AU, VST, VST3, AAX, and standalone formats. A free 30-day demo is available. Visit cherryaudio.com for additional product details, a deep-dive introductory video, system requirements, and an extensive collection of awe-inspiring sound demos.
NEW YORK, August 19, 2025 – Heavyocity Media proudly introduces Ostinato Textures, an evocative virtual instrument that merges the intimacy of solo strings with the award-winning sound design of Heavyocity. Capturing the intricate ostinato performances of solo violin, viola and cello, Ostinato Textures delivers the nuance and phrasing of a live player while infusing motion and emotion into modern scores. With 20 multi-sampled, unique articulations per instrument and over 140 hybrid presets, this instrument invites composers to add delicately intimate figures and evolving rhythmic textures to their music.
Recorded at Heavyocity Studios using state‑of‑the‑art microphones and preamps, Ostinato Textures offers a spectrum of rhythmic performances—from simple to complex, straight to triplet—that ebb and flow with grace and elegance. Each sample captures the clarity and intimacy of the solo string, providing the building blocks of rhythm and movement.
At the heart of the instrument is the Ostinato Texture Designer, which blurs the line between organic performance and cinematic sound design. Composers can layer and blend up to three articulations to craft their own textures or explore the inspiring library of 140 presets. For even greater control, the individual Ostinato Texture Instruments allows users to keyswitch between eight tempo‑synced articulations, load one of 12 preset patterns with articulation and mix presets, or build custom patterns by selecting their preferred articulations from a drop‑down menu.
“With Ostinato Textures, we wanted to capture that intimate motion that draws you deeper into a piece of music,” said Ari Winters, Creative Director, Heavyocity. “You can hear every detail – the bow on the strings, the rosin, the resonance of the wood – adding a depth and focus to your string parts that amplifies their emotional impact.”
For a limited time, Heavyocity is offering Ostinato Textures for $119 (reg. $149). In addition, owners of NOVO, FORZO, VENTO, or Symphonic Destruction will get an additional $20 off with registered serial. Offers end September 5th, 2025.
Ostinato Textures is a “powered‑by‑Kontakt” instrument, offering full functionality in both the full version of Kontakt 7 or later and the free Kontakt Player.

Complementing its low-end counterpart, DRUMS, PERRCS focuses on top-end percussive sounds — sticks, shakers, tambourines, rimshots, rotos, frottoirs, boobams, and more — adding symphonic sparkle and subtle groove to any production. Whether used on its own or alongside other Symphonic Elements titles, PERRCS is designed for instant rhythmic impact, giving producers the tools to create complex rhythms and driving accents with clarity and control.
“With Symphonic Elements, we’ve given you something that I’ve been playing with for many years as a starting point,” said Hans Zimmer. “Think of these sounds as musical building blocks—now go crazy, tear them apart, make your own music, and knock our socks off.”
“Having access to Hans’s personal sounds has enabled thousands of musicians to create great soundscapes without the need for elitist orchestration skills. About UJAM
UJAM was co-founded by Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams, both musicians whose careers have been significantly supported by technology. The vision behind UJAM is to make technology even more accessible and encourage even more people to make music.
This vision is being realized by a team of virtual instrument pioneers who had previously developed legendary virtual instruments from Steinberg and Digidesign — from Steinberg Hypersonic to Virtual Guitarist, from Digidesign Xpand to Transfuser — and who finally want to realize their vision of shortening the path from the idea to the perfect track. More fun, better results, less complexity.
The composer’s companion, used by Max Richter to write his groundbreaking record.
A virtual instrument of the very piano used to conceive of and compose Max Richter’s seminal work, SLEEP. Recorded at Max’s state-of-the-art recording studio, Studio Richter Mahr, nestled in the British countryside, this is a faithful rendition of the family Kawai home piano, captured with an assortment of classic microphones allowing options to control its colour. With a quite lively treble, and a beautiful sustain, this is a conversational instrument that draws you in and is the perfect partner for crafting ideas or capturing more humble, unobtrusive performances.

The Felt Piano Concept Re-Imagined For Guitars
Softstruck by Sonora Cinematic
Sonora Cinematic, Edinburgh, Scotland – 5th August 2025. Sonora Cinematic has announced Softstruck – one of the developer’s most unconventional Kontakt Player instruments to date and the third title to join the highly popular Select series.
The inspiration behind Softstruck emerged during a felt piano recording session, sparking the team’s curiosity about whether the same emotional softness created with felt could be brought to the guitar. After experimenting with adding felt to the instrument itself, which didn’t hit the mark sonically, the real breakthrough came when attention shifted to muting the stroke.
Using ultra-soft felt picks, typically designed for nylon instruments such as the ukuele, Softstruck delivers a brushed, blurred guitar tone that feels nostalgic, intimate, and deeply textured – a perfect fit for cinematic scoring and ambient production.
The Guitars
Taking the new-found technique, three distinctive guitars were sampled…
Guitar 1 ‘Butterscotch’ – a classic guitar with an added middle pick-up that offers an iconic scooped clean tone which is very bright to begin with and darkened considerably with the felt.
Guitar 2 ‘Flatwounds’ – a fantastic, chambered guitar with a p90-style pickup – a much darker instrument made even darker by fitting flatwound strings.
Guitar 3 ‘Singlecut’ – a classic model renowned for its bassy sound at the neck pickup.
The guitars were recorded through four signals: two different amps for each guitar for some tonal variation and two different pedalboard chains, one ambient and lush, the other more experimental.
FX & Features
As with all Select series titles, Softstruck features Sonora Cinematic’s signature atmospheric FX, tweaked specially for guitar. A lush studio reverb, a shimmery, diffused ambience with a huge tail, and a slowly modulated reverb with granular-like processing for a rich, textured soundscape.
Other features include a Double Track switch for different round robins which can be panned hard right and left for a richer, stereo feel, and a broad range of 51 curated presets.
Whether composing a cinematic score, crafting ambient soundscapes, shaping emotional cues, or writing delicate, heartfelt songs, Softstruck provides a deeply inspiring palette. Its understated character also makes it ideal for introspective solo pieces or layered textures in complex arrangements.
Pricing
Softstruck is available to download now for the introductory price of £29 (normally £39). An ‘upgrade’ option is available for existing Select series customers priced £23 (normally £29). Intro offers end on 31st August 2025. All prices exclude VAT. Requires Kontakt Player v8.3.

Limited MK8 drops fusing instrument craftsmanship with pop culture-inspired design
The Custom Shop exists as a space for visual and cultural storytelling, where the iconic MK8 piano becomes a canvas for creative reinterpretation. While each instrument is built to the same exacting musical standards, Custom Shop models feature culturally influenced aesthetics, drawing from musical heritage, fashion, nature, and more.
Each drop offers players and collectors a unique opportunity to own a truly rare Rhodes piano, designed and hand-built by Rhodes master builders. Rhodes Custom Shop also invites individuals to order their own bespoke idea, utilising a range of production techniques and finishes only available in the Custom Shop, to create a unique piano.
“Custom Shop is a space for creative and forward-thinking design — an opportunity for us to celebrate a wide range of popular culture while pushing the boundaries of what a Rhodes piano can be,” said Oliver Harvey-Ball, Rhodes Custom Shop Master Builder. “We’re also incredibly excited to invite our community to design their own unique Custom Shop piano — a chance to create an instrument with deep personal meaning.”
The MK8, Inspired by Speed
The debut Custom Shop model, titled ‘American Classic’, draws inspiration from the 1965 AC Shelby Cobra — one of the most iconic machines in American automotive history. Like the Cobra, it channels raw precision and visual impact, merging American design legacy with UK-based craftsmanship. Both the Shelby and the Rhodes MK8 share a transatlantic identity: conceived through American vision and hand-built by artisans in the UK.

Finished in deep Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White racing stripes and a hand-polished chrome front panel, the American Classic is a bold visual reference to the Shelby’s racing pedigree. Additional design elements include a classic black tolex base, walnut front logo plate, custom black-on-silver rear logo plate, and all-black dial caps.
Built around the flagship MK8 electromechanical piano, the American Classic retains all of the instrument’s hallmark features — including its precision-manufactured Kluge Klaviaturen GmbH (Steinway Group) keybed, all-analogue signal path, advanced preamp with 3-band EQ, stereo FX section with compressor, phaser, chorus, and delay, and optional proprietary MIDI system add-on
Key Features – American Classic MK8

Availability
The American Classic will be available to order for 48 hours only via the Rhodes Custom Shop. Each piano is built to order and individually numbered, with no reissues once the drop concludes. All Custom Shop models are offered with or without MIDI, with the MIDI-equipped version available for an additional £1299
Customers who pay in full will receive a Rhodes stand at no extra charge. Alternatively, orders may be secured with a 20% deposit at checkout.
Customers interested in developing their own Custom Shop concept are invited to contact Rhodes to discuss their ideas and arrange a consultation with the Rhodes master builders. For more information or to start the conversation, please visit https://rhodesmusic.com/rhodes-custom-shop/

About Rhodes
For Rhodes loyalists around the world, this is a new chapter in Rhodes’ history, not a new book. With the Rhodes MK8, we’re returning to the principles, aesthetic, craftsmanship, and pride of Harold Rhodes’ originals. We’re paying homage to the past with our gaze fixed firmly on what lies ahead.
Introducing a new plug-in module that goes beyond a mere shimmer reverb into new dimensions of sound and texture.
July 31, 2025 – IK Multimedia, the leading innovator in music software and hardware, announces the release of T-RackS 6 Prism Reverb, an effects module that is more than just another shimmer reverb. A playground for sonic exploration, Prism Reverb was developed for sound designers, producers, and guitarists to push beyond “beautiful washes,” allowing them to shape infinite, evolving textures with depth and creative freedom.
Traditional shimmer reverbs end at beautiful; T-Racks 6 Prism Reverb transcends this by delving into the lush, the infinite, and the experimental. Every control is designed to inspire, offering tools to create reverb textures that breathe, dance, and evolve in ways no other reverb can.
T-RackS 6 Prism Reverb Overview

Reverb Core: The Heart of the Effect
At the center of T-RackS 6 Prism Reverb is the reverb module, crafting the initial reflections that define the sound. With Size and Diffusion controls, users can shape anything from tight, focused spaces to vast, ambient environments – the essential foundation for the evolving effect chain.
Modulation: Motion with Depth
Integrated into the reverb stage, the modulation section adds life and movement to the tail. Depth, LFO Rate, and optional randomization provide expressive control, while independent channel modulation generates rich, asymmetrical spatial textures that evolve with the music.
Pitch Shifting: Precision Meets Space
Two independent pitch shifters provide a ±2-octave range with ultra-fine tuning down to 1/100th of a semitone. This module features dedicated level and pan controls, allowing users to create immersive, spatial pitch effects – ideal for shimmering textures or subtle tonal shifts.
Feedback Control: Shaping the Loop
The feedback engine controls the shimmer’s intensity and tone, with frequency-specific shaping for both highs and lows. The FB PITCH switch toggles pitch-shifting in or out of the loop, while FLIP switches stereo channels on each pass, enhancing spatial depth and seamlessly blending complex effects.
A Standout Reverb for Creatives
With T-RackS 6 Prism Reverb, sound designers can craft customized, evolving reverbs for film, games, and experimental music, shaping textures that breathe and transform over time, and creating a sense of depth and immersion.
Producers can introduce shimmering movement and depth to their tracks without needing to stack multiple effects, enriching their mixes and making them more dynamic. Guitarists can infuse cinematic, shoegaze-inspired textures directly into their digital audio workstations (DAWs), offering flexibility and control that traditional pedals cannot match.
The One-Stop Mixing and Mastering Suite
T-RackS 6 now features 63 world-class mixing and mastering processors that can be used individually in any DAW or within the all-in-one T-RackS plug-in or standalone Mastering Console.
From studio must-have compressors, EQs, and channel strips, all leveraging IK’s industry-leading analog modeling technology, to hall, room, plate, and spring reverbs based on some of the most iconic studios of all time, as well as cutting-edge digital processors and organic all-in-one units, T-RackS 6 offers every tool music producers need to get the job done and ready for broadcast.
Compatibility and Accessibility
Like all T-RackS 6 plug-in processors, Prism Reverb is designed to be fully compatible with both Mac and Windows platforms. It supports all major plug-in formats: Audio Units, VST 3, and AAX.
