About The Experience Pianos:
The Experience Pianos was started out of a pure love and curiosity about the mechanics of pianos, and the desire to experience and share pianos of all kinds. From the thunderous bass that is caused by a Bosendorfer’s extra bass notes to the icy treble created by a Steingraeber/Phoenix’s carbon fiber soundboard, The Experience Pianos wants the world to
experience the nuance and character of all instruments within the piano industry.

BROOKLYN, NY, USA: creativity inspiring and musical possibility expanding product designer Ampersand Ampersand is directly taking pre-orders for Wear & Tear — announced as its inaugural Eurorack module, masterfully recreating characterful cassette imperfections inspired by the classic charm of vintage tape machines — as of May 9…
As alluded to by the STEREO CASSETTE TAPE EMULATOR ‘subtitle’ subtly gracing its no-nonsense, 14HP-wide front panel, Wear & Tear takes its inspiration from the classic charm of cassette recorders. Readily enabling users to effectively dive into the heart of sonic nostalgia with their own personal time machine to the golden age of lo-fi soundscapes, this Eurorack effect module is key to unlocking a veritable treasure trove of degraded magic. Modern musicians craving that elusive lo-fi sound should surely find that Wear & Tear offers a versatile range of effects from subtle saturation to total sonic transformation. Experiencing everything from the gentle flutter of tape warble to the gritty charm of sounds seemingly rescued from a forgotten attic tape collection can come quickly, for Wear & Tear puts the quintessential lo-fi aesthetic right at anyone’s fingertips by blending the raw beauty of vintage imperfections with the precision of modern control.
Digging deeper, dual-function knobs each support a primary and alternate setting, enabling complex
configurations and interactions between effects; embarking on a journey through sound, one where users are effectively only limited by their imagination while weaving dense ambient textures, comes courtesy of the following (key) features: DUST — adds chaos to all other settings as a macro control; (tape) SATURATION — delivers a spectrum of overdriven options, ranging from just a touch of warmth to hard clipping; (stereo) LO-PASS and HIGH-PASS (filters) — tame said SATURATION, or, conversely, push it to the limit with additional RESONANCE; WOW and FLUTTER — add a dynamic layer or movement to the sound, tempo-syncable for musical cohesion; AGE — transforms incoming audio to the sounds of yesteryear as a shifting, non-resonant filter; (pure white) NOISE (generator) — can crackle and pop, while an added ENVELOPE follower allows Wear & Tear users to push the NOISE volume or duck it with incoming audio; CRINKLE — adds to the authenticity of cassette emulation with sporadic dropouts; and COMPRESS — simplifies the often complex process of compression into a single, user-friendly knob, adjusting ratio and threshold together for immediate sonic impact.
It is worth noting that the module also features a user-friendly firmware update system that uses a web-based utility in Google Chrome for easy maintenance and feature upgrades, ultimately ensuring that Wear & Tear not only keeps up with current technological standards but also improves over time.
Time, then, to consider expanding Eurorack setups with Wear & Tear to take a personal time machine-style trip to the golden age of lo-fi soundscapes, surely? Ultimately, unlocking a veritable treasure trove of degraded magic is now well within the grasp of any modern musician craving that elusive lo-fi sound characterised by cassette imperfections — and all without resorting to tricky tape machines of a certain vintage. Versatility, of course, is — given Eurorack’s inherently patchable nature — a given with Wear & Tear.
Shipping to US-based buyers from Brooklyn, NY by May 31, 2024, Wear & Tear is already available to pre-order — priced at $350.00 USD — directly from Ampersand Ampersand’s website here: https://ampersandampersand.co/ (More retailers are coming soon.)

ASHLAND, VA, USA: interesting I/O and utility device specialist Boredbrain Music is proud to expand its Xcelon true stereo voltage-controlled Eurorack mixer’s creative capabilities by announcing availability of DB25, TRS, and IO — introduced as the latest additions to its Direct Multi-Channel Series of modules that interconnect to provide a multitude of audio outputs for expanding Eurorack systems — as of May 7…
As a 24-channel D-SUB direct output module occupying only 8HP of Eurorack space, DB25 can interface with its new-found IO sibling — to provide 24 balanced audio outputs — and/or the modular mixing powerhouse that is Xcelon (https://boredbrainmusic.com/product/xcelon/) — already available as a 48HP-wide, critically acclaimed, all-analogue, six-channel stereo audio mixer module made for Eurorack modular systems, its interface designed for immediate hands-on control and visual feedback while also allowing for extensive CV (Control Voltage) connectivity and expandability, enabling operation as a powerful mixing tool for both performance and production purposes — to provide 12 stereo direct outputs. On the front of DB25 are three 25-pin D-SUB connectors, each output offering eight channels of balanced line-level audio. As such, the — 1-8, 9-16, and 17-24 — channel numbers next to each of those D-SUB connectors correspond to the four — INPUT 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, and 19-24 — ports at the rear, each of which accept signals from compatible Boredbrain Music modules using the supplied 8-pin ribbon cables. Connected to IO, those ports accept groups of six individual input signals. Similarly, when connected to Xcelon or Xcelon XP3 (https://boredbrainmusic.com/product/xcelon-xp3/) — the latter already available as a 22HP-wide, three-channel stereo expander module for its bigger brother — those ports accept three stereo mixer channels for direct output, and can be mixed and matched in any order, while both pre- and post-fader direct outputs for a bank of Xcelon channels can be used simultaneously.
The TRS 12-channel direct output module, meanwhile, can also interface with its new-found IO sibling to provide 12 balanced audio outputs (or up to 24 balanced audio outputs if using two TRS modules). Indeed, its 8HP-wide front panel features 12 TRS jacks, each outputting balanced line-level audio signals, while the — OUT 1 through to OUT 12 — channel numbers above them correspond to those on the two — INPUT 1-6 and 7-12 — ports at the rear, each of which accept signals from compatible Boredbrain Music modules using the supplied 8-pin ribbon cables. Connect TRS to IO and those ports accept groups of six individual input signals. Similarly, connect it to Xcelon or Xcelon XP3 and those ports also accept banks of three stereo mixer channels for direct output. And, again, those ports can be mixed and matched in any order, while both pre- and post-fader direct outputs for a bank of Xcelon channels can be used simultaneously.
As a 30-channel direct input/output module, IO can be used as signal inputs for its new-found DB25 and TRS siblings, or, alternatively, to provide Xcelon with up to 15 stereo direct (Eurorack level) outputs. On the front of this 8HP-wide module are 27 3.5mm jacks — 1 through to 24 being mono, while 25/26, 27/28, and 29/30 are stereo — serving as either inputs or outputs, depending on how the rear ports are connected. Correspondingly, five — IN/OUT 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-24, and 25-30 — connection ports on IO’s rear can each send or receive six signals to or from compatible Boredbrain Music modules using the supplied 8-pin ribbon cables. Connect those ports to DB25 or TRS and IO’s jacks act as signal inputs for those modules; alternatively, connect to Xcelon or Xcelon XP3 — pre- or post-fader, or both — and those jacks act as Eurorack-level direct outputs for the stereo mixer channels. Connections to those ports can be mixed and matched in any order, with compatible modules connecting to any of the ports.
Anyone attending SUPERBOOTH24, May 16-18, FEZ-Berlin, Germany is invited to swing by Booth Z060 where Boredbrain Music will be exhibiting its new DB25, TRS, and IO modules alongside its entire Eurorack range, as well as offering comprehensive Xcelon demos — and a warm welcome, of course, to all.
DB25 (https://boredbrainmusic.com/product/db25/), TRS (https://boredbrainmusic.com/product/trs/), and IO (https://boredbrainmusic.com/product/io/) are all available to order directly from Boredbrain Music for $369.00 USD, $259.00 USD, and $99.00 USD, respectively, as well as through the company’s growing global network of dealers (https://boredbrainmusic.com/dealers/), together with all other Boredbrain Music products.

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC: independent development teams federation United Plugins is proud to announce availability of Instant Audio’s BassRift as another cross-brand collaboration between founding partner SounDevice Digital (forever fine-tuning tools based on long term experience of mixing many recordings in its namesake SounDevice Studio) and fellow founding partner JMG Sound (specializing in electronic music production tools) — duly designed for speed and power as the ultimate all-in-one bass-sculpting tool that acts as a gateway to crafting spine-tingling basslines that dominate mixes and captivate
audiences, allowing users to create a tight, rumbling bottom end while simultaneously adding captivating and astonishing effects to the upper frequencies that not only work well with any bass synth sound but can also be applied to electric bass guitar with equally exciting-sounding results — representing the latest in a series of tools to instantly assist anyone in achieving their desired sound, as of May 7…
Fueling basslines
It is fair to say that bass is the main power source supporting most modern-day music productions, which is exactly why Instant Audio created BassRift. It is also fair to say that the cross-brand collaboration concerned has succeeded in creating the ultimate all-in-one bass-sculpting tool for fueling basslines, seamlessly separating the low and high frequencies of any bass signal and allowing users to create a tight, rumbling bottom end while simultaneously adding captivating and astonishing effects to the upper frequencies — all the while maximizing ease of use and efficiency.
Enhancing electronic or electric
Whether working within the realms of EDM (Electronic Dance Music), modern pop, or, indeed, any genre that benefits from relentless low-end behavior, BassRift is an indispensable tool with which users can creatively sculpt the foundation that any track is built upon — ultimately with unparalleled precision and depth. While working well with any bass synth sound, it is well worth noting that BassRift can also be applied to electric bass guitar with equally exciting-sounding results.
Signal splitting
Creatively central to BassRift doing what it is that it does so well is its SPLIT section; this divides the incoming signal into two streams at a selected crossover point whereby the lower frequencies are refined using the SAFE BASS section — itself dedicated to preserving and enhancing bass track potency courtesy of COMP (compressor) and ENHANCE (enhancer) controls alongside an ability to consolidate the stereo signal into MONO, thereby ensuring the solidity and uniformity of low frequencies across various playback platforms — while the upper frequencies are subjected to various effects for added texture and depth.
ROUTING for exciting-sounding results
Thanks to the upper frequencies being run through a three-stage — FLOW, SPACE, and HEAT — effect ROUTING section, exciting-sounding results comes naturally to BassRift. Better still, the running order of those three modules can be rearranged, all linked to dedicated sections allowing the user to choose from four effects each, and all are easily controlled by dedicated dual-function knobs to maximize work rate.
Go with the FLOW
It is perfectly possible to infuse basslines with captivating — CHORUS, FLANGE, PHASE, and WOBBLE — modulation effects from within the comfort of the FLOW section, and a single dual-function knob allows for rapid adjustment of the intensity (AMOUNT) of the chosen effect while RATE controls its speed. Sculpting sound with ease and precision to add depth to tracks — from subtle choruses to swirling phasers — is effectively effortless when working with BassRift.
Make SPACE
BassRift’s beautiful-sounding SPACE section is dedicated to creating atmospheric textures. This time AMOUNT allows for dialing in the intensity of the selected — COMB (filter), DELAY, REVERSE (delay), or (re)VERB — effect, while the ‘shared’ TIME control shapes its duration; whatever ‘spacey’ effect is being sought, SPACE delivers, adding depth and dimension to basslines.
Turn up the HEAT
HEAT, however, is the section where raw energy and sonic grit converge in BassRift by simply dialing in the intensity of the chosen — CRUSH (bit-crusher), FOLD (wave folder), TRASH (digital distortion), or TUBE (saturation) — distortion type with AMOUNT, while the ’shared’ DIRT control shapes its character and texture to add depth, edge, and attitude to basslines with painless precision.
Final touch
The MERGE section in BassRift brings the previously split signals back together again as a cohesive force; utilizing its EQ module featuring HP (high-pass) and LP (low-pass) filters allows for sculpting bass frequencies with surgical precision, thereby ensuring clarity and focus, then unleashing the power of the MAXIMAZE (maximiser) elevates basslines to their fullest potential, adding punch, presence, and impact to every note.
Key features:
∙ All-in-one bass-sculpting tool to quickly create tight, rumbling bottom end while adding captivating and astonishing effects to upper frequencies
∙ Works well with any bass synth sound but can also be applied to electric bass guitar with equally exciting-sounding results
∙ SAFE BASS section dedicated to preserving and enhancing bass track potency

About United Plugins
As implied in the carefully chosen wording for an apt appellation that really represents how the Prague-registered Limited Company came about and what it collectively creates, United Plugins is a federation of small, independent development teams comprised of individuals involved in the music industry. Indeed, the founding triad of FireSonic, JMG Sound, and SounDevice Digital can count engineers, producers, and artists amongst their ‘united’ names. Needless to say, all were seeking the freedom to create the tools that they would like to use in their studios and on their projects. And all agreed that this could be better achieved when working together. Though United Plugins’ proliferating product portfolio may not always be for the musical masses, surely someone, somewhere will always find those tools to be a perfect fit for their own music productions… just like those inventive individuals behind United Plugins’ partner brands, the ranks of which have since swelled to include Muramasa Audio and MeldaProduction. Thanks to the latter letting United Plugins utilize its super-easy licensing system, which is why selected MeldaProduction products are also available from the United Plugins website (https://unitedplugins.com), a thriving future for the federation is assured.

We believe that there’s so much to be had from a single one shot sample. Typically we think of drum kit one shots, and they’re great of course, but one shots taken from more melodic instruments or tonal environments are capable of so much more than they’re given credit for.
Take a slow, undulating sample of an old keyboard running through delays and reverbs, and with just one note, primitively but beautifully stretched across the keyboard, you’ve got a lush, evolving pad instrument whose limitations create something quite distinctive. Feed OSS your own one shots and we guarantee you’ll be inspired, fast.
And don’t get us started on what happens drum breaks/melodic loops…
OSS, or One Shot Sampler, is a standalone plugin designed to help you find the joy in your one shot collection. It allows you to access and trigger your samples quickly and easily. Locate your samples, write a melody or hold a chord, and scan through your one shots, like presets on a synth. Oh, and for a bit more joy, you can change the background image and the colour scheme to whatever you like.

Alberobello, ITALY: professional producer and seller of content for all guitar and bass digital devices ChopTones is proud to introduce Vocs MV BM as its inaugural guitar amp plug-in — duly designed to recreate the one-of-a-kind tone of the MV50 Brian May guitar amp head, itself the result of a close collaboration between a certain iconic British brand of amplification and acclaimed British rock royalty, by leveraging cutting-edge neural networking technology to capture the essence and nuance of the original hardware with unparalleled accuracy — as of April 30…
It is fair to say that ChopTones’ first-ever guitar amp plug-in bridges history with technology. That said, however, Vocs MV BM is more than a mere replication of the guitar amp head hardware from which it draws its inspiration, but rather represents a resurrection of grand, ethereal rock resonance into a flexible format that meets the demands of today’s DAW-driven workflow. With that in mind, then, the possibilities are (almost) endless — whether crafting classic rock ballads or experimenting with genre-defying compositions.
But behind Vocs MV BM’s familiar-looking GUI there is some seriously cutting-edge neural networking technology being utilized. Ultimately, this allows the plug-in to capture the striking tonal characteristics and nuances of the MV50 Brian May guitar amp head, including its revered signature treble boost functionality for sculpting a one-of-a-kind tone; TREBLE BOOST of course can do likewise, making every strummed chord processed by Vocs MV BM reverberate with legendary impact.
Indeed, users are able to totally control their tone, thanks to Vocs MV BM’s meticulously refined feature set. Superficially simple, self-explanatory GAIN, TONE, TREBLE BOOST, and VOLUME controls are implemented with intuition and practicality firmly in mind, making it easy for the plug-in’s users to tweak their sound to perfection — dial in settings to tailor always-amazing-sounding results, ranging from subtle nuances to roaring crescendos, in other words.
Creativity can quickly be unleashed with Vocs MV BM, whether paying tribute to a timeless rock anthem or blazing new musical trails. Which way they want to go, exactly, is entirely up to the user — revolutionizing their sound, captivating their audience, leaving their mark on musical history… anything, it appears, is possible!
Vocs MV BM is available to purchase as an AU-, CLAP-, LV2-, VST2-, and VST3-format-compatible guitar amp plug-in at a time-limited introductory promo price of only €29.90 EUR/$32.99 USD — rising thereafter to its regular price of €49.90 EUR/$53.99 USD — directly from ChopTones here: https://www.choptones.com/collections/plugins/products/vocs-mv-bm-amp-sim
Vocs MV BM can be used in conjunction with IR Loader — ChopTones’ two-slot IR (impulse response) loader for creating incredible cabinet and mic combinations at the touch of a button and achieving premium sound quality in the clear-cut process — available as a free AU- and VST-format-compatible plug-in by simply entering an e-mail address here: https://choptones.rocks/FreeIRLoader
* ChopTones’ products simply seek to recreate the sound of any amplifiers, cabinets, and speakers mentioned and any use of brand names is strictly for comparison and descriptive purposes.

Electric exploration
Over 100 original sounds made from an electric guitar, but only a few of them actually sound like one.
You’ll discover a huge variety of different tones and moods that can be combined and manipulated into near limitless possibilities.
Created using a baritone electric guitar and a whole list of unusual ideas. This is our third and biggest release in the Lost series with the widest spectrum of sonic possibilities.
It’s time to get lost again . . .
Sound categories
The sounds in Lost Guitar are split into 4 very specific categories.
NOTES
These are all sustained guitar sounds. Some sound like a guitar, others are pushed to the point of being unrecognisable.
TEXTURES
Infinitely looping landscapes that feel like a synth. Some are soft and blurry. Some are dark and hostile.
RHYTHMS
Organically rhythmic loops. Beat syncable to any tempo but with plenty of real and human variations in timing.
MOVEMENTS
Random scatterings of single notes. Not recorded to a tempo, these are meandering and off-the-cuff.
MEMORIES ENGINE
Turn this on to create an arpeggiated underscore.
You can load any of the sounds in to it. There’s a handful of presets built in to this page as a good starting point.
GET LOST
This randomizes almost everything in the instrument.
A real fan favorite in our previous Lost releases.
Be prepared to get into some unexpected places and hopefully something you love
THIS IS NOT A GUITAR LIBRARY
The original sessions were all played on a Reverend Descent baritone guitar. These raw recordings were then taken and given the Westwood treatment you’ve come to love; cassette, reel-to-reel, boutique pedals and hardware samplers. Most of what you’ll hear and experience sounds like a guitar, but this is not a virtual instrument that is attempting to replicate a guitar.

Sounds will sit alongside Tracklib’s vast song sample library, allowing artists to add an array of one-shots and loops to their music all fully royalty-free
Tracklib, the pioneering music sampling service, is excited to announce Sounds, a massive step forward in the sampling journey. Sounds is a brand-new offering that enables producers to access a range of authentically recorded, royalty-free loops and one-shots. This new addition to Tracklib is included in their subscription plans, making Tracklib the most complete platform for music producers who need sounds.
Already the go-to for sample usage, Tracklib bridges the gap between legendary and contemporary artists by simplifying the sample-clearing process for DIY artists and global superstars. Samples cleared through Tracklib have featured in songs by some of the world’s biggest artists, including Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar. Tracklib’s popular Sample Breakdown series showcases exactly how sampling is used to create these, and many other mega hits – the videos has generated over 100 million views.
With Sounds, Tracklib has become an entirely rounded platform where users can find everything from a slapping 808 to the vocals of an obscure 70s soul song, all with one affordable subscription.
“We maintain that music should remain a human process; everything you hear in our library has
been created and curated with care by real musicians – it’s all about having the right sounds as
opposed to the most sounds” says Andreas Liffgarden, Tracklib’s Chairman
Earlier this year, the company also dropped the license fee for most of its plans, enabling users to clear an unlimited number of samples without additional costs. Since the beginning of the year, the number of samples cleared through its service has tripled. A disruptor in the field, Tracklib is breaking down barriers to entry in music and continues to change the face of the game.
The company was launched in 2018 and features over 100,000 songs across 400 labels and publishers. Songs on the service span a huge range of eras and genres; from Debussy to Isaac Hayes, Brazilian pop to Reggae, Folk to Deep Jazz, and everything in between. With Tracklib, the art of crate digging has a bright digital future as a new generation of creators search for that one special sound…
“This is a pivotal moment for Tracklib and our customers. Not only can music makers access
hundreds of thousands of incredible songs, but we’ve now entered the royalty-free sound space, making Tracklib the one-stop platform for music production” says Andreas Ahlenius, Tracklib’s CEO.
Tracklib offers subscriptions in three different tiers: Lite ($8.99 per month), Premium ($13.99) and Max ($19.99). Sounds and Unlimited sample clearance is included for Premium and Max subscribers. Users also have the option to pay annually, saving two months’ worth of subscription costs. Tracklib offers a three-day free trial.
The art of sampling has become embedded in music history. Around 15-20% of all songs on Billboard’s top 100 contain parts of other previously released songs at any given time. It’s part of the cyclical nature that helps some of the world’s greatest music live on forever. Musicians who sample songs by Tina Turner and Ray Charles through Tracklib could one day have their own work sampled through the service.
