Heritage Audio - Super 8 Featured

Heritage Audio elevates eight-channel workability with direct DAW-connecting Súper 8 preamp and OST-8 adat 500-Series enclosure

Heritage Audio LogoMADRID, SPAIN: Heritage Audio is proud to announce the availability of its Súper 8 — elevating eight-channel workability as a 2U-rack-mountable 8 CHANNEL TRANSFORMER COUPLED CLASS A MIC PREAMP WITH PREMIUM 24 BIT 192K ADC, allowing eight high-quality signals to be recorded into a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) with an ADAT Lightpipe cable, meaning minimal fuss — and OST-8 adat — a 3U rack-mountable, eight-slot 500-Series enclosure, elevating workability with a premium 24-bit/192kHz ADC (analog-to-digital convertor) creating the cleanest, most direct pathway for sending signals to a DAW using an ADAT Lightpipe cable — as of May 31…

Heritage Audio -Super 8 Front

Allowing access to eight channels of Heritage Audio’s acclaimed 73-style preamp with simultaneous conversion using its premium 24-bit/192kHz ADC for the first time in a single standalone device, it has never been easier to capture and convert so many signals from just one piece of equipment. Easier said than done, perhaps, but what a piece the 2U rack-mountableHeritage Audio - Super 8 Logo Súper 8 — an 8 CHANNEL TRANSFORMER COUPLED CLASS A MIC PREAMP WITH PREMIUM 24 BIT 192K ADC, as the wording boldly blazoned across its front panel promotes — actually is! Indeed, its mic/line preamps share the same tried-and-tested, award-winning classic 73 design deployed on the European pro audio manufacturer’s renowned preamps — the same design that thousands of audio professionals simply swear by, thanks to the three-stage Class A preamp involved, including exclusively-designed chunky Carnhill transformers on each INPUT and OUTPUT, as well as tantalum capacitors, combining to ensure that any user reaps the reward of a vintage and vibrant solid sound from a golden era of electronics, albeit now allowing a generous gain of 80dB that is sure to put a smile on their face!

Heritage Audio Super 8 - Rear

Furthermore, the Súper 8’s preamps come complete with features that audio professionals have come to expect. Each channel has a +48v phantom power-activating button, a LINE button to prepare the INPUT for line-level signals, a PHASE button to flip it 180°, and a ‘low cut’ button to produce a -3dB cut at 80Hz. However, the first two channels are also equipped with a LOZ (low impedance) button, which will change the INPUT impedance from 1200Ω to 300Ω to provide even more tone-tweaking flexibility; a PAD button to reduce the INPUT by -20dB; Heritage Audio’s acclaimed JFET (junction-gate field-effect transistor) D.I. (direct input); as well as a fully-sweepable low-cut filter — everything anyone could conceivably ask of a professional preamp.

But best of all, Súper 8 incorporates a premium ADC to make sending signals to a DAW as easy as possible. Put it this way: the 24-bit ADC concerned offers selectable sampling frequencies ranging from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, as well as the option of syncing it to an external word clock. With three different digital output options — ADAT/SMUX, AES/SPDIF, and AES/EBU — available, connecting a Súper 8 to any audio interface, whether wallet-friendly or otherwise, transforms it into a high-quality professional recording rig.

Perhaps another standout Súper 8 feature that is well worth highlighting here is its ability to have either the direct output from the preamp sent to the ADC or — simply by pushing a button on the front panel — route an external signal to the ADC from a DB25 connector on the back. Because this is selectable per channel, it opens up even more flexibility and options to the user. Ultimately, it allows anyone to use the mic/line preamp and follow it up with some external processing — perhaps some EQ or dynamics — before returning it to Súper 8 to be converted. It is also perfectly possible to use Súper 8 as a standalone premium converter when not using its preamps.

As a 3U rack-mountable enclosure elevating workability while effectively sharing some Súper 8 features, Heritage Audio’s announced-at-the-same-time OST-8 adat readily represents the OST-8 adat logoeasiest way to increase an audio interface’s capabilities and incorporate 500-Series modules into a recording and mixing setup by providing a flexible high-quality front end able to accommodate up to eight 500-Series modules — including the most demanding Class-A and vacuum tube designs — and combine them with a built-in premium 24-Bit/192kHz ADC to create the cleanest, most direct pathway for sending signals to a DAW using an ADAT Lightpipe cable.

OST-8 adat also includes Heritage Audio’s tried-and-tested OS Technology™ to guarantee the cleanest, most protected environment for its users’ favored 500-Series modules — not only offering unmatched filtering and isolation for each slot but also ensuring the best performance possible as every module is individually isolated and regulated to provide it with its own power supply to ensure that it will perform at its peak potential, unhindered by any other ‘power hungry’ or even faulty modules. Interference is reduced as a result, and many 500-Series devices actually exhibit lower self-noise attributes and better performance when racked in an OST-8 adat enclosure — especially mic preamps.

Heritage Audio Super 8 - OST Front

But beyond that, though, OST-8 adat’s 24-bit/192kHz ADC — also offering selectable sampling frequencies ranging from 44.1kHz to 192kHz — allows it to operate as a master unit or synchronized as a slave to another via a BNC connector with word clock ensuring a stable conversion. Out of the box, OST-8 adat is ready to use as a top-tier eight-channel convertor, with the possibility of gradually adding a collection of 500-Series modules to create a unique recording or mixing rig. Notably neat is its ability to individually decide — on a per-channel basis — whether the signal is converted and sent to the DAW comes directly from the corresponding input (non-processed signal) by selecting IN, after the 500-Series module (processed signal) by selecting OUT, or from an external source by selecting EXT. It is perfectly possible, therefore, to send the processed signal out to another processor and then return it to OST-8 adat so it can be digitally converted and sent to the DAW — especially useful, for instance if some external EQ or compression for more control is required before being digitally converted. That those three selectable sources are available for each of the eight convertors is a seemingly small detail, yet one that can clearly make a big difference to anyone knee-deep in a mix or time-sensitive session.

Heritage Audio - Super 8 OST Rear

Sturdily built like all Heritage Audio products — Súper 8 included, obviously, OST-8 adat incorporates high-quality gold-plated XLR connectors as well as duplicating all INPUTS and OUTPUTS on DB25 connectors for added convenience, an admirable attribute further reflected in its welcomed inclusion of a new LINK feature, allowing users to internally connect a Series-500 module’s output to an adjacent Series-500 module’s input instantly at the push of a button — no need to use patch cables!

Clearly, then, Heritage Audio has succeeded in elevating eight-channel workability with its direct DAW-connecting Súper 8 preamp and OST-8 adat 500-Series enclosure. Either will surely succeed in elevating any recording and mixing setup, should anyone add either product — or, better still, both of them — to their setup.

Súper 8 and OST-8 adat are both shipping and available via Heritage Audio’s growing global network of dealers (https://heritageaudio.net/where-to-buy-international/) with an SSP (Standalone Selling Price) of €4,399.00 EUR (including VAT) and €1,099.00 EUR (including VAT) in the EU, respectively, and a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) of $3,999.00 USD and $999.00 USD, respectively, US distribution being handled via RAD Distribution (http://www.raddist.com/heritage-audio.php).

United Plugins announces JMG Sound Nanopulse, a unique transient treatment tool adding power and punch to tracks

United Plugins LogoPRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC: independent development teams federation United Plugins is proud to announce the availability of founding partner JMG Sound’s Nanopulse plug-in — pitched as being a unique transients treatment tool to add power and punch to tracks so they can cut through the mix, morphing the character of those transients via various impulse response and frequency profiles taken from drums, percussion, instruments, noises, objects, and more besides to subtly enhance existing transients or completely transform them — as of May 31…

Treating transients well means treating them with Nanopulse. Needless to say, well-treated transients add power and punch to tracks so they can cut through a mix, and Nanopulse achieves this like never before by taking the profile of other expertly-crafted attack sounds and applying them to the transient of the sound being worked on by users of the plug-in, providing them with an amazing ability to morph the character of that transient or replace it altogether.

At the heart of Nanopulse is its unique attack ENHANCER section with no fewer than 64 transient types on offer there. They have been captured from a wide variety of sources, such as a snare skin, woodblock, kick beater, glass ping, string pluck, cymbal tap… the list goes on. Simply selectJMG nanopulse logo from the lengthy list to make the transient of the sound being worked on taking on the character of those profiles. PITCH, TONE, and RESONANCE controls are also available, respectively shifting the pitch of the selected transient type by -24/+24 semitones — use this to tune the frequency profile to fit well with the ORIGINAL TRANSIENT; changing the balance of low and high frequencies to make the ENHANCED TRANSIENT darker or brighter, and controlling how much the frequency profile will be smoothed — at 0% the profile will be smooth while still taking on the tonal character of the source and at 100% the profile will be extremely detailed with resonant peaks that ring out.

nanopule GUI

On top of that, there is a SHAPER section where Nanopulse users can sculpt and shape the overall dynamic balance of their sound using a transient shaper with three — LOW, MID, and HIGH — bands, each with control over ATTACK (affecting the level of the transient signal) and SUSTAIN (affecting the level of the remaining signal — everything minus the transient, in other words), while CROSS controls the frequency at which the bands will be split; SLOPE selects the crossover type from 6dB, 12dB, and 24dB per octave, while LISTEN lets users solo single or multiple parts of the divided signal — useful for checking things. The easy-to-use six sliders involved promote precise control over sound sculpting and shaping at lightning speed.

Thankfully, three different DETECTOR modes are also available for detecting transients — SMART is able to detect transients regardless of their level to generally give the best results, SPECTRAL takes into account tonality to offer very musical results but incurs a little latency in doing so, and FAST is slightly less accurate at low levels but can detect multiple transients in quick succession better than the other modes while least taxing the CPU (Central Processing Unit) in doing so. Such unique sound properties and benefits plainly provide Nanopulse users with welcomed flexibility to suitably work with their audio material as deemed appropriate.

Additionally, Nanopulse’s INPUT and OUTPUT offer control over their respective gain levels by -24 to +24 (dB), while JMG Sound saw fit to provide an output LIMITER feature for safety alongside a handy RANDOM feature for generating random values in the ENHANCER — especially useful for drumming up unexpected inspiration, although an UNDO feature is always available to revert back to the original sound, so no need to panic if the unexpected proves unappealing.

Transients treatment uniqueness notwithstanding, Nanopulse shares several admirable attributes with fellow family members now numbering 25 plug-ins, each playing their part in United Plugins’ proliferating product portfolio, providing maximum audio quality by using internal 64-bit audio processing as well as being able to handle any sampling rate — why not try it at 192 kHz (or even higher)? — and also the fact that it intelligently detects whether it makes sense to perform any processing at all; if not, it temporarily turns on sleep mode, meaning it requires virtually no CPU power at all, thereby saving computing resources for other processes. Putting a photorealistic 3D yet flexible GUI (Graphical User Interface) to the test with Nanopulse, likewise, leaves its users with the impression that they are working with real-world hardware; however, it easily adapts to their needs since they can always drag the arrow at the bottom-right corner to change its size — smaller to save precious ‘screen estate’ or larger to make it easier on the eye and, as a result, even easier to use than it already is.

It is fair to say, then, that those interested in enhancing and shaping their transients in an innovative new way clearly owe it to themselves and their music to seriously consider adding JMG Sound’s Nanopulse to their plug-in collection — quite literally a sound move that their DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) will also thank them for since United Plugins constantly keeps on top of current OS (Operating System) and DAW developments, so users can always update to the most recent version of any partner’s plug-ins for free!

JMG Sound’s Nanopulse is available to purchase for a time-limited introductory promo price of only €19.00 EUR until June 30, 2022 — rising thereafter to its regular price of €79.00 EUR — as an AAX-, AU-, VST-, and VST3-compatible plug-in (using internal 64-bit audio processing capable of handling any sample rate) directly from its dedicated webpage (https://unitedplugins.com/Nanopulse/), where a 15-day, fully-functional trial version for macOS 10.10 and newer and Windows 8/10 can also be downloaded for free.

Note that no iLok, dongle, or internet access is required for Nanopulse activation. (All United Plugins software uses license files for activation and owners can freely use purchased software on all their computers as long as they are the user.)

See and hear Nanopulse in action while watching United Plugins’ illuminating introductory video here:

About United Plugins (www.unitedplugins.com)
As implied in the carefully chosen wording for an apt appellation that really represents how the Prague-registered Limited Company came about and what it collectively creates, United Plugins is a federation of small, independent development teams comprised of individuals involved in the music industry. Indeed, the founding triad of FireSonic, JMG Sound, and SounDevice Digital can count engineers, producers, and artists amongst their ‘united’ names. Needless to say, all were seeking the freedom to create the tools that they would like to use in their studios and on their projects. And all agreed that this could be better achieved when working together. Though United Plugins’ proliferating product portfolio may not always be for the musical masses, surely someone, somewhere will always find those tools to be a perfect fit for their own music productions… just like those inventive individuals behind United Plugins’ partner brands, the ranks of which have since swelled to include Muramasa Audio and MeldaProduction. Thanks to the latter letting United Plugins utilize its super-easy licensing system, which is why selected MeldaProduction products are also available from the United Plugins website, a thriving future for the federation is assured.

IK Multimedia Releases MODO BASS 2

The first physically modeled electric bass goes next level adding fretless

and double-bass models, a brand-new Patterns section, and more

MODO BASS 2

May 26, 2022 – IK Multimedia releases MODO BASS 2.0. The next-level edition of IK’s award-winning physically modeled bass virtual instrument is available now, adding 8 new basses, including new fretless and upright options, a brand-new Patterns section with thousands of grooves, advanced performance controls, and more ways to enter the MODO BASS world.

Producers know how important it is to have a great-sounding bassline. MODO BASS 2.0 is here with even more realism and the stunning sounds of sought-after electric and double basses being played by master musicians, all with the convenience of a plug-in virtual instrument.

MODO BASS 2 - Image 2

A Limitless Variety
MODO BASS 2.0 includes the 14 original iconic basses plus 8 exciting new ones, for a total of up to 22 basses covering any style of music. There are 6 new electric models featuring 2 legendary fretless basses plus 2 double-bass instruments. And with the power of MODO BASS synthesis, users can turn any standard 4-string electric bass into a 5- or 6-string bass for unmatched sonic options.

Fretless Freedom
Want to give bass tracks a lift? Try going fretless with MODO BASS 2. There’s Fretless Jazz, inspired by the iconic Jaco Pastorius’s customized Jazz Bass with its instantly recognizable tone and dynamics. And Fretless Bass Man, inspired by Pino Palladino’s famous StingRay, delivers that iconic sound to your studio. Plus MODO BASS 2 introduces the ability to turn any of the 18 available electric basses also into a fretless model (and the fretless models into fretted basses as well).

Double Basses Are Here!
MODO BASS 2 adds 2 double basses to the collection. Choose Rockabilly for old-school slapping styles or Upright Studio for that classic jazz sound. A premiere for MODO BASS physical model synthesis, the new double basses are modeled in their own studio space with a selection of movable mics and a piezo signal that can be blended in and then run through MODO’s stomps and amps as desired. And finally, a pair of stereo room mics lets users mix in the perfect ambient room sound.

The Home Base for Basslines
The new Patterns section offers thousands of patterns and smart filters to browse by genre, song section, length, time signature, and more. It’s easy to audition any one of the patterns and find exactly what’s needed, whether it’s the backbone of a full song or just a handy solo lick to lead into the next song section. Top professional bass players performed all patterns with a groove and feel in MODO BASS that are virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.

Enhanced Performance
The Playstyle section in MODO BASS 2 has been enhanced and benefits from IK’s latest advances in playing style subtleties and control. With MODO BASS 2’s ultra-realistic pluck technique comes new advanced algorithms for pick and slap articulations that’ll breathe life into standard MIDI files lifting the low end and the music to new heights.

Try It for Free
MODO BASS 2 Custom Shop is also available as a free software program that anyone can download and comes with one of the world’s most popular basses, the ‘60s P-Bass. Within the program, users can add new basses à la carte, make purchases, and expand their bass collection in minutes. All new basses instantly become available for making music and include the option of going fretless.

The Mojo of MODO
Still, the first and only virtual instrument that models the entire process of generating and playing bass sounds, MODO BASS recreates each string’s response to the action of the “player” and the interaction of the string with the fingerboard, body, and pickups of the bass instrument. IK’s analog modeling expertise then adds the amp and effects of an electric bass rig to the sound chain.

All of these expanded features give MODO BASS a level of playability that is simply unmatched by any other bass program and provides the ability to create sound in real-time, offering the ever-changing, hyper-realistic bass sound music needs to reach the next level. And since the program isn’t sample-based, there’s more hard-drive space available for completing each masterpiece.

Heritage Audio announces HERCHILD Model 660 and Model 670 tube-based compressors as modern-day alternative to world’s most revered processors

Heritage Audio LogoMADRID, SPAIN: Heritage Audio is proud to announce availability of its HERCHILD Model 660 and Model 670 tube-based compressors — carefully crafted as modern-day alternatives to the most revered processors in the world which have acted as an essential ingredient to making history happen on so many hit records with a sought-after sound so many have become accustomed to hearing in over six decades of music production, priced more realistically to suit those trying to craft contemporary hits of their own making with that familiar tone without trying to get their hands on original units that are hard to come by and near impossible to acquire after decades of being so rare — as of May 19…

Industry insiders have long since held two tube-based beasts — a Fifties-vintage ‘family’ formed from one-time availability as mono (MODEL-660) and stereo (MODEL 670) variations — in the highest regard. Rarity rising throughout the decades making them increasingly hard to come by and near impossible to acquire — prepare to headHerchild logo into six-figure (€ EUR/$ USD) territory for one well-worn unit, if one can be found at all — means many view them today in almost mystical terms. After all, the original Fairchild tube-based audio compressor has held its own as an essential ingredient to making history happen on so many hit records with a sought-after sound so many have become accustomed to hearing in over six decades of music production. Indeed, it has certainly earned its stripes as the ‘granddaddy’ of compressors!

Herchild Front

It is ironic that the Fairchild was originally designed to be used for cutting lacquer masters for vinyl albums, yet engineers soon realised that it could do so much more. Indeed, it became an essential tool for many innovative artists, engineers, and producers — so much so that it could be found in most professional recording studios. Saying that, though, only around 500 units were originally produced, so it stands to reason that there are not nearly enough existing today to satisfy those still seeking that sought-after sound — all the more so when bearing in mind that the few remaining in good shape after putting in so many years’ service regularly require specialist maintenance that also comes at a prohibitive price. It is unsurprising, therefore, that most people simply assume that they will never be actually able to work with one. On the face of it, then, this is where Heritage Audio can clearly help.

Herchild 660 Rear

HERCHILD Model 660 is one of Heritage Audio’s latest products as a tube-based compressor that bears a striking resemblance to one of the most revered processors in the world. Why? Well, far from flattering with a simplistic skin-deep approach, it has been able to successfully follow the original design and trace the necessary components to provide a modern-day alternative. Although it has taken years to achieve this, the European pro audio manufacturer concerned collectively feels that it has finally produced something so special that it is capable of allowing that ‘granddaddy’ to take a long-deserved rest, making (racked) room for the new blood to take up the (compression) mantle. Moreover, by being based around 11 tubes and 5 transformers, including custom Cinemag and AMI exclusive models, HERCHILD Model 660 will convincingly imprint its signature sound all over any user’s tracks to provide that familiar tone that so many have come to love.

Let it be known that while staying true to the original in terms of response and sound, Heritage Audio has also been able to add some welcomed extras to make HERCHILD Model 660 more practical in a modern-day studio setting, such as direct access to the continuously variable slope (DC THRESHOLD) control — something that makes the compressor so much more flexible, given that this was only available on the original via an inconvenient screw adjust hidden from immediate access. And then there is the SC FILTER knob; nowadays, it is just about impossible to fathom a compressor without a side chain filter feature since it has become so important in everyday use. Here Heritage Audio has helpfully provided four different frequencies to choose from, precisely tailored to suit any HERCHILD Model 660 user’s needs. Needless to say, Heritage Audio has also faithfully reproduced the exact attack and release times in its TIME CONST control — combines adjustments to the progressively developing curved ‘ratio’ and the ‘knee’ simultaneously through four different low-pass filter settings, varying from a gentle slope to a more pronounced and aggressive slope — so anyone can confidently recreate the familiar Fifties-vintage feel of its revered processing predecessor.

Picking up on the fact that the stereo Fairchild MODEL 670 found its way onto almost all the classic records released throughout the Fifties, Sixties, and Seventies, defining the sound of a generation (or two), the simultaneously-released HERCHILD Model 670 is also one of Heritage Audio’s latest products, presented as a tube-based compressor that also bears a striking resemblance to one of the most revered processors in the world. This time it involves no fewer than 22 tubes and 9 transformers, including custom Cinemag and AMI exclusive models, to indistinguishably achieve that triumphant, classic sound, so well known and adored by so many. Moreover, HERCHILD Model 670 is effectively two HERCHILD Model 660 units in one as a two-channel device, duly allowing each channel to be used independently or linked together. There are actually four modes of operation: IND (individual), LINK, LAT/VERT (mid/side), and LAT VERT/LINK — the two LINK modes obviously opening up a whole new world of mix options outside the more restricted boundaries of an original Fairchild MODEL 670.

Herchild 670 Front

Feature-wise, fully tube-based compression with side chain filtering for modern-day needs and immediate access to the continuously variable slope sum up Heritage Audio’s HERCHILD Model 660 and Model 670 that have both been well worth waiting for as clean, intelligent designs guaranteeing many years of trouble-free usage, united in bringing back to life that sought-after sound so many have become accustomed to hearing in over six decades of music production, priced more realistically to suit those trying to craft contemporary hits of their own making with that familiar tone without trying to get their hands on original units that are hard to come by and near impossible to acquire after decades of being so rare.

Herchild 670 Rear

HERCHILD Model 660 and Model 670 are shipping and available via Heritage Audio’s growing global network of dealers (https://heritageaudio.net/where-to-buy-international/) with an SSP (Standalone Selling Price) of €5,499.00 EUR (including VAT) and €9,999.00 EUR (including VAT) in the EU, respectively, and a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) of $5,499.00 USD and $9,999.00 USD, respectively, US distribution being handled via RAD Distribution (http://www.raddist.com/heritage-audio.php).

IK Multimedia Releases T-RackS Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip

Unparalleled vocal processing from the iconic producer and engineer
with all his favorite tools for bringing out the magic of every performance

Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip - Image 1
May 19, 2022 – IK Multimedia announces Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip for T-RackS, reproducing in a single plug-in the GRAMMY-winning producer’s unique vision and formula for crafting attention-grabbing, engaging vocals. Having produced and mixed countless hit songs for artists ranging from Elton John to the White Stripes, Joe has perfected his parallel processing technique to enhance the emotional impact of each vocal performance.

Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip models Joe’s go-to chain of high-end analog outboard gear, custom signal flow and unique know-how to deliver an incredible level of control and character to any style of vocal tracks.

Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip - Image 2

GRAMMY-winning vocal sound
Based at Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood, California, world-class engineer/producer Joe Chiccarelli has developed a reputation for crafting impactful, emotional vocals that helped him earn 10 GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY awards.

It’s also made him sought after by such artists as U2, Beck, The Strokes, Juanes, The Killers, Morrissey, Tori Amos, The Shins, Alanis Morissette, The White Stripes, Jason Mraz, Cage The Elephant, Vance Joy, Spoon, The Raconteurs, Café Tacvba, and My Morning Jacket.

A formula for sonic success
IK worked hand-in-hand with Joe to ensure T-RackS Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip offers an exact recreation of the signal chain used by top artists. Users will find 3 distinctive compressors modeled after a UREI 1176, a Fairchild 670 and a hybrid UA 176/ Tube-Tech CL 1B for bringing out the subtleties in every vocal.

This signature chain offers the ultimate parallel compression tool with the convenience of an all-in-one channel strip configuration. Between the 3 compressors, users can add focus, grit, warmth, weight, clarity – whatever vintage or modern sound best suits the mood and vibe of the music.

Parallel compression for radio-ready emotion
Using a single compressor for vocal compression risks crushing its soul. That’s why Joe uses multiple compressors – by blending the uncompressed signal with each compressor in parallel, he’s able to maintain the dynamics and passion of each vocal, while still achieving higher levels of compression and character. It’s a delicate balance, but when done right the possibilities are endless.

All Joe’s tools in one plug-in
In addition to this advanced 3-compressor parallel processing chain, T-RackS Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip includes essential tools for further sculpting vocal tracks to perfection.

  • The De-esser section provides optimized settings for male and female vocalists with a single control to tame and remove sibilance.
  • An analog-modeled EQ section works independently or in tandem with the 3 compressors with a versatile Pre/Post switch.
  • The Effects section includes 2 each of Reverb, Delay and Modulation effects selected by Joe from IK’s latest algorithms.
  • The Output section offers a global Wet/Dry control, Drive to help vocals cut through a mix and Color to adjust the Drive’s harmonic tone.

Take it from the master
T-RackS Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip includes a wide variety of presets from Joe himself, saving precious time and making it easy to get amazing results. Users can mix with them right out of the box or use them as springboards to develop their own custom presets. Along the way, they’ll gain valuable insight into the mind of a mixing master and learn how he uses his signature signal chain to achieve engaging, radio-ready vocal sounds.

The power of T-RackS
Like all T-RackS plug-ins, T-RackS Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip offers two ways to work: as a single plug-in, or within the T-RackS 5 shell.

Pricing and availability
T-RackS Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip is available now from the IK Multimedia online store and from IK authorized dealersworldwide at a special limited-time introductory price of $/€129.99* (reg. $/€159.99) through May 31, 2022.

*All pricing excluding taxes.

Kilohearts v2 featured

Kilohearts Updates the Entire Kilohearts Ecosystem to v2

Kilohearts has announced a significant free update to the entire Kilohearts Ecosystem of plugins with the release of Kilohearts v2.

The Kilohearts v2 update is focused mainly on modulation with the introduction of new modulators and the incorporation of the Phase Plant modulation system to Multipass and Snap Heap, dramatically increasing the possibilities for dynamic modular effects creation.

In addition, there are a number of improvements to the functionality, GUI, and optimisation of Phase Plant, Multipass and Snap Heap. These include MPE support, improved visualisation of modulation connections, external automation for any parameter, modulator/effects groups, and much more.

To help users discover the myriad new possibilities for audio processing and sound design that have been opened up by this update there is also lots of new factory content to explore.

KEY UPDATES

Below you will find more details on some of the most important aspects of this update.

Multipass and Snap Heap get the full Kilohearts Modulation System

Those familiar with Phase Plant will already be aware of the power and flexibility of the Phase Plant modulation section, which allows you to combine and connect as many modulators as you need. The modular effects building machines, Snap Heap and Multipass, were previously limited to just a handful of modulation options but that has all changed with the release of Kilohearts v2, which has kitted them out with the full Kilohearts Modulation System

This opens up whole universes of new creative possibilities for creating dynamic, evolving, responsive, or chaotic modular effects within these already super-useful Snapin Hosts.

Kilohearts Multipasss with presets

New Modulators

Curve

Kilohearts Curve
MSEGs done the Kilohearts way.

The Curve modulator allows you to draw detailed modulation shapes of any length with the option to set and modulate loop points with a selection of loop modes. Use Curve for long slow changes, extended complex modulations, or unique envelopes with custom loops and tails.

LFO Table

Cycle through 256 LFO shapes in one modulator.

Kilohearts LFO Table

LFO Tables are LFOs that load wavetables. This original and unique module opens up a swathe of possibilities for rhythm and pitch modulation. When combined with the Random modulator, LFO Tables are incredibly powerful for crafting evolving generative patterns.

Kilohearts Remap

Map incoming values to whatever output values you need with custom remap shapes.

Ultimate precision control over output values from any input. Great for locking pitch values to specific note frequencies, among other things.

Kilohearts Sample and Hold

Handy modulation utilities that convert incoming signals into modulation values. These utilities were previously only available in Snap Heap and Multipass but have been updated to be a part of the Kilohearts Modulation System. Sample and Hold can be used to grab input values when triggered, the Audio Follower will track the amplitude of an incoming signal and use it to modulate whatever you desire, and the Pitch Tracker will do the same for pitch.

New Functionality

●  Modulator Triggers – kick off an envelope, LFO, or curve when the incoming value reaches a specified threshold

●  MPE Support – Use any MPE controller to add expressive dimensions to your performance

●  LFO rates can now go way slower. All the way to 0Hz, in fact.

●  External Automation for any parameter – Link up to 64 external automation sources directly to almost any parameter

Workflow Improvements

●  Improved visualisation of modulation connections – see exactly what is connected to what immediately with just a mouse-hover

●  Updated modulation target menu – clearer values and a quick remap curve

●  Effects Groups – Combine multiple Snapins into groups to quickly move and copy them

●  Modulator Groups – Do the same for modulators

●  Various bugfixes and optimisations

●  Slightly different colours…!

Free for All Users

This is a free update available for all users and all they need to do is run the Kilohearts Installer and update to start using Kilohearts v2 immediately.

And don’t think this is the end… Kilohearts have lots more planned for future updates. If there was something you were hoping for that hasn’t been added yet, watch this space!

Pricing Update

In conjunction with this software update, Kilohearts have also made some changes to product bundles and pricing. More information on the pricing update can be found here.
