Edinburgh, Scotland, 21st January 2026. Sonora Cinematic has announced the release of Pure Nylon – the latest addition to the developer’s popular series of Soundbox instruments and one which brings the warm and intimate sound of the nylon-string guitar to Audiomodern’s free sampler platform.
Recorded during the sessions for the developer’s Panorama Acoustic Kontakt library, Pure Nylon delivers the same warm tone and musical detail – now reimagined for an MPE-ready Soundbox workflow.
Both intimate and inspiring from the moment a note is pressed, Pure Nylon excels in ambient, cinematic, neo-classical, experimental, and modern underscore styles, as well as traditional and contemporary acoustic writing. The inclusion of a variety of creative presets also makes it an intriguing sound design tool.
Articulations & Presets
Pure Nylon focuses on three essential articulations – Soft Plucked, Picked and Harmonics. Each articulation is sampled note by note with three different round robins, ensuring natural variation, realism, and a highly playable feel across the keyboard.
To push Pure Nylon into more creative territory, a collection of experimental extras can be found including free improvisations – both of single notes and of root, fifth, and octave arpeggios. Holding a chord unleashes rich, beautifully chaotic soundscapes, which are especially fun and expressive when controlled by the vector.
Creative sequences and ambient presets are also included, making Pure Nylon as much a sound-design instrument as a traditional guitar.
Designed For Soundbox
Pure Nylon is designed for Soundbox – a customizable MPE sampler which is available to download for free from the Audiomodern website, and works on Mac, Windows and iOS. The release joins Sonora Cinematic’s growing lineup of Soundbox instruments which also includes Post-Rock Guitars Vol 1 & 2, Transfigured Orchestra 1& 2, Aethervox and Drift.
