It’s so good to hear something that’s dear to my heart done properly in software.” Tom Oberheim, Synth Pioneer
London, 7.7.22 – Tom Oberheim and GForce Software present GForce Oberheim SEM. When Tom Oberheim created the first Oberheim® Synthesizer Expander Module (model SEM-1) in 1974, he had one goal – to make a synth that sounded great, whilst being extremely simple to use. In the decades since the release of this iconic synth, it’s been used by countless legendary musicians, making the SEM one of the most revered synthesizers of all time.
As well as painstakingly recreating the huge, unmistakable sound of the SEM, the GForce Oberheim SEM also recreates the ethos of the original – a simple monophonic synth that allows you to shape incredible sounds in an instant. And with Tom Oberheim’s seal of approval, you can be confident in its authenticity. Add to this more than 400+ categorized presets, and inspiration is just moments away.
And as it happens, it’s Tom Oberheim’s birthday today. Tom, Happy Birthday!
MADE IN COLLABORATION WITH OBERHEIM
When we first worked with Tom Oberheim and Marcus Ryle (an Oberheim engineer during the 80s) to create the GForce Oberheim OB-E®
v2, they felt that there were no software emulations of the SEM that accurately recreated the sound and the ethos of the original monophonic SEM. We decided to change that, and under the close guidance of Tom and Marcus, we developed the GForce Oberheim SEM to ensure an experience that is truly authentic to the original instrument.
In the GForce Oberheim SEM, every section of the synth has been painstakingly emulated to ensure sonic authenticity. We’ve even modeled the authentic analog inaccuracies of the original SEM, blurring the lines between analog character and digital precision. All this makes the GForce Oberheim SEM the most authentic emulation of the SEM sound available.
The beauty of the SEM lies in its combination of great sound and simple to use architecture. That’s why, since its release in 1974, the SEM has remained highly coveted and musically relevant. Over four decades later, we’re beyond thrilled to release our software version with Tom Oberheim’s full blessing, collaboration, and endorsement” Dave Spiers & Chris Macleod, co-founders of GForce Software Ltd.
ENHANCED WHERE IT MATTERS
While staying true to the original SEM, we also added a number of enhancements to make the GForce Oberheim SEM even more useful for modern music production. Alongside a new VCO3, which doubles as an audio-rate LFO for additional modulation and FM possibilities, the SEM now has tempo-syncable LFOs and a host of performance controls via velocity and aftertouch. We’ve also integrated a fun, fast arpeggiator & sequencer, and added a stereo delay and a beautifully lush reverb to sonically complement your sounds.
Finally, we’ve included 400+ factory presets designed by Dave Spiers, Graeme Rawson, and Tom Wolfe, each created to demonstrate the incredible sonic character of the SEM. Every preset has been tagged, categorized, and is quickly accessible from the preset browser. The SEM even integrates with the GForce Oberheim OB-E, allowing you to load your SEM presets in either device. This enables you to quickly sketch out your sounds in the SEM, and then make them polyphonic in an instant.
The GForce SEM manages to be both simple to use, and yet diverse. It has been a continual source of inspiration for me, and the depth and quality of the sound have kept my creativity flowing whenever I sit down to use it.” Tom Wolfe, Sound Designer.

About GForce Software Ltd.
www.gforcesoftware.com
Specializing in vintage synthesizer modeling, GForce Software offers a range of products with the most authentic sonic and musical quality in the virtual arena. Our mission is to inspire composers and producers by providing well-crafted instruments and sounds, and to nurture those aspiring to learn and grow during their musical journey.
SHANGHAI, CHINA: fresh from making musical waves at The 2022 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, USA, at the invitation of the MIDI Association, a non-profit community for both the companies who develop new MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) specifications and products and the people that create music and art with MIDI, digital art-facilitating software and hardware company Robkoo is proud to announce that its revolutionary Wind Synthesizer R1 — realised as a futuristic, cyber-like MIDI wind controller instrument with responsive RGB light bars, motion control, Bluetooth connectivity, customisable hotkeys, onboard sound banks, and a dedicated app allowing amateur and professional players alike to directly (and literally) light up their performances to audiences for the first time in history, having mastered its intuitive panel design in a matter of minutes and achieved gig-readiness within weeks of first musically making its acquaintance — rocked as a Commercial Hardware category finalist in the MIDI Association’s 2022 MIDI Innovation Awards Show, itself co-founded by music technologies learning platform Music Hackspace and the non-profit NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), where it was displayed as taking third place…
It is true to say that the most distinguishing design feature of the Wind Synthesizer R1 is how much of its slimline body actually lights up. Ultimately, an extra dimension of musical expression responds to the player’s breath, glowing to the tune of over 60,000 colors — customizable in JamKoo, Robkoo’s popular performance app for iOS and Android that automatically detects (via Bluetooth) when a Wind
Synthesizer R1 is nearby and awake to provide access to all settings on a larger screen, as well as a dummy-proof guide to learning — courtesy of two lengthy, patent-protected RGB light bars with which the futuristic, cyber-like MIDI wind controller instrument is equipped. It is also the only such instrument that can be played both vertically and horizontally, whether working with the (removable/replaceable) food-grade mouthpiece manufactured from the same material as a baby pacifier for utmost health protection or the new horizontal mouthpiece, making for a cyber-flute-like performance action.
Its inbuilt gyroscope lets Wind Synthesizer R1 players spice up their performance with pitch bend and vibrato by simply moving the MIDI wind controller instrument itself. Indeed, performing with it is simply a case of playing the seven touch-sensing performance keys (positioned on its topside) — themselves exhibiting minimal noise and maximum durability — that resemble an acoustic instrument to permit playing expressively in a realistic and graceful way while switching tones in an instant, ably assisted by an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen that even helps with navigating in the dark. Delve instantly into wider octaves beyond the limitations of acoustic instruments thanks to the triple-octave (-1, 0, +1, +2) keys (on the underside of Wind Synthesizer R1), while a reliable and intuitive mechanical pitch wheel lets performers pitch freely with their thumb — also customizable to trigger other controls like portamento.
Put it this way: with onboard tones sampled from top performers from around the world — working with sound suppliers like Dynamix Audio (Serbia), Impact Soundworks (USA), Kong Audio (China), Sound Magic (China), and Versilian Studios (USA), Wind Synthesizer R1 could conceivably shave off 10 or even 20 years of practice when it comes to achieving a professional-sounding performance!
Whether wirelessly or cable connected to an applicable device, by also allowing for portamento and program change alongside breath control — as implied by the name, Wind Synthesizer R1 is also a capable MIDI controller that sends so much more than just note information. Interestingly, it also supports MIDI input over USB MIDI (Type-C) and Bluetooth (BLE MIDI) — not bad going for a lightweight (450g) device with 67 cm (length), 4 cm (width), and 5 cm (height) measurements making for comfortable handling. However, its slimline design belies its impressive specification, also accommodating a 3.5 mm TRS headphone output, 6.35 mm TRS audio output, and Type-C USB port. But better still, Wind Synthesizer R1 boasts a (2600mAh) battery-running time of six hours (with the RGB light bars operating), extending to 10 hours (with the RGB light bars turned off).
On the face of it, Wind Synthesizer R1 represents a highly-capable package, one which helpfully comes complete with a dust bag, neck strap, mouthpiece cap, Type-C USB cable, quick start guide, and user manual… little wonder, then, that Wind Synthesizer R1 rocked as a Commercial Hardware category finalist in the MIDI Association’s 2022 MIDI Innovation Awards Show — something Robkoo Business Developer Tianbang Zhuang far from takes lightly, as evidenced in his well-chosen words when speaking there: “It would be unfair to say that R1 is just a wind synth with lights, or just a wind synth with motion control, or just a wind synth with a horizontal mouthpiece option. They are eye-catching, for sure, but R1 has much more layers. When we started this project, we were here to solve the problems in instrument learning. We did not add lights just because we thought it was cool, or stack those features because we thought they were cool. We added features because they can be helpful to our goal. That’s why those features can be put together as an organic whole. Think about the experience we designed for the customer: you receive it at Christmas; you say, ‘Wow! It’s cool!’; you follow the user guide and learn about it with our [JamKoo] app; and in 15 minutes you suddenly know how to play a new instrument. After two weeks you went from being someone who knows nothing about musical instruments to a confident performer — with lights and style. We are changing peoples lives with something that has so many fancy features, but doesn’t feel overwhelming at all since it still appears to be a simple and intuitive instrument.”
While Wind Synthesizer R1 is already available to buy as a commercial product in mainland China for CN¥2,999.00 RMB, Robkoo is currently working with a number of KOL (Key Opinion Leaders)/KOC (Key Opinion Consumers) on overseas firmware and other adjustments (including sound banks) with a view to making it available worldwide with a projected price tag of around $500.00 USD later this year when it is likely to become available to buy from Robkoo’s website (http://www.robkoo.com/en/) and also some selected retailers.

Breathing life, emotion, and a little bit of chaos into your brass. A brass sample library for Kontakt, that follows in the same successful footsteps as Westwood’s Solo Strings Untamed library.
This takes the concept to 5 brass instruments; Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba and Flugelhorn. The lungs of the library are the Improvisations. These are performed notes with real human energy and movement. It’s like someone taking your composition and breathing life and emotion into it.
Included with all of the instruments is a unique Storms articulation. Create a crescendo from a calm solo performance through a lively ensemble to a wild outburst of unruly players. With lots of other interesting long and short articulations to play with.
Some more unexpected and unusual than others and all performed with the same human feeling. Solo Brass Untamed is right at home with alternative scores and is also ideal for layering over bigger symphonic arrangements to add some magic and soul. It’s inspired by eclectic and rule-bending composers like Bernard Hermann, Danny Elfman and Colin Stetson.

HALMSTAD, SWEDEN: high-quality handcrafted professional audio products producer TK Audio is proud to announce the upcoming availability of M/S Blender 500 — a multi-functional parallel processing tool for the long-established, API-developed 500-Series modular analog audio equipment format as implied by its name, formed from a dual-mono blender, a stereo blender, and an M/S encoder/decoder, designed to marry getting more energy into a single track or adding more punch to a mix by blending in compression with space-saving enclosure-mounted ease of use — as of June 24…
Experienced engineers are well aware that parallel processing — the technique of processing a copy of a track in a mix and then combining it with the original — can clearly help with getting more energy into a single track by blending in compression on, for example, bass, vocal, and guitar tracks. That being said, parallel processing, of
course, can also add more punch to a mix, retaining transients from the direct signal while blending in the compressed signal for more energy. It is also very useful for blending in distortion from overdriven units.
Ultimately, having access to all this and more in a well-designed, high-quality handcrafted 500-Series module for the long-established, API-developed 500-Series modular analog audio equipment format with space-saving enclosure-mounted ease of use in an age where studio-level sound quality has effectively been brought increasingly into the comfortable confines of home has come to make more sense as more people moved towards recording at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Put it this way: while TK Audio’s new M/S Blender 500 comes into its own when working at home and away, the company concerned clearly knows a thing or two about designing 500-Series modules, having already released a mono compressor (T-Komp 500), a stereo bus compressor (BC501), and a dual-mono EQ (TK-lizer 500) — the latter being a Technical Achievement Nominee in the Signal Processing Hardware (500 Series Modules) category at the 32nd NAMM TEC Awards, as well as several discontinued devices.
As a multi-functional parallel processing tool formed from a dual-mono blender, a stereo blender, and an M/S encoder/decoder, M/S Blender 500 flexibly acts as two individual mono blenders while working in standard mode. Alternatively, activating the Link function results in the L/M Blend knob controlling both channels to make blending stereo signals easier. Meanwhile, M/S mode encodes the (Out) left-right sends into mid/side sends and decodes the (In) returns back to the left/right — before the blend control(s). Both blend controls use potentiometers with 41 clickable positions, ranging from fully Dry to fully Wet. With Cue switchable functionality also provided, users can freely monitor the left, right, mid, or side signal — albeit M/S mode needs to be activated to cue the mid or side signal — which will be sent to both outputs. On top of that, M/S Blender 500 can also be used as an M/S encoder/decoder for any inserted processor(s). It is not necessary to use a stereo processor for M/S processing, however, since separate units can be used for mid and side processing and the processed signal can be blended back with the dry signal regardless.
Moreover, M/S Blender 500 users can process the mid and side signals separately when working with it in M/S mode, helping them to achieve a more focused midrange and add some ‘air’ to the side signal, and altering the side signal level means that they can control the width of a mix. After all, this is what parallel processing is all about. And now it is perfectly possible to achieve all this with studio-level sound quality at home (and away), thanks to TK Audio’s latest high-quality handcrafted 500-Series module, mounted for ease of use in a space-saving enclosure, ideally alongside any of the company’s other 500-Series modules — award-nominated or otherwise.
M/S Blender 500 will be available as of July 1, 2022, at a list price of $899.00 USD/€739.00 EUR (ex. VAT)/£649.00 GBP (ex. VAT) via TK Audio’s growing global network of distributors and retailers here: https://tkaudio.se/where-to-buy/

LONDON, UK: beautifully building on ABBEY ROAD ONE: ORCHESTRAL FOUNDATIONS, a 90-piece symphonic orchestral release representing the sound-specialising British music technology company’s primary partnership with world-famous Abbey Road Studios, Spitfire Audio is proud to announce availability of ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS — creatively capturing the vivid and intense sound of an eight-piece horn section so essential to successful orchestral scoring, performed and recorded with the unmistakable acoustics of its Studio One namesake by eight exceptional players and an award-winning sound engineer using priceless microphones for facilitating quick and easy film score creation (whether elevating existing symphonic orchestral toolkits or pairing with ABBEY ROAD ONE: ORCHESTRAL FOUNDATIONS) as a fully-fledged, standalone library, helpfully housed in an award-winning, easy-to-use, intuitive and inspiring (AU-, AAX-, NKS-, VST2-, and VST3-compatible) plug-in designed for composers by composers that loads directly into all major DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) without the need for any additional software — as of June 23…
It is fair to say that the horn has proved itself to be the irreplaceable heart of orchestral scoring. Think American composer, conductor, and orchestrator James Horner’s forlorn main theme of Braveheart, the 1995 American epic historical war drama film directed and co-produced by Mel Gibson, or the thunderous horn section used in American film composer, singer, and songwriter Danny Elfman’s original theme to Batman, the Tim Burton-directed 1989 superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name… horns play myriad roles, from chorale accompaniment to strings through to punchy main themes that transcend anything that the rest of the orchestra has to offer.
Amazingly, ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS is the ninth ABBEY ROAD ONE: FILM SCORING SELECTIONS series sample library to be released by Spitfire Audio — including its inaugural ABBEY ROAD ONE: ORCHESTRAL FOUNDATIONS — and the first featuring two legatos. Letting loose with an agile section of eight horns at its creative core, all are capable of going from speedy — playing with fast-run articulations across dynamics — to slow, stately, and more lyrical performances, and all with the sound of cinema — Abbey Road Studios’ famed Studio One and A-list London players — right out of the box.
But best of all, ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS creatively captures the most essential ingredient to successful orchestral scoring — that vivid and intense sound of an eight-piece horn section. Thanks to those two distinctly different legatos, this cinematic treasure trove adds even more flavor to the ABBEY ROAD ONE: FILM SCORING SELECTIONS series. Digging deeper, the PERFORMANCE LEGATO patch is designed to be more aerobatic and instantly playable, performed with accented attacks at the front of the sustains. Since it allows for fast runs across every dynamic, it is very much the ‘plug and play’ of the two. The LYRICAL LEGATO patch proffers a more measured and deliberate alternative, with a softer entry — perfect for slower, lyrical lines. It is also fair to say, though, that the difference between how those two patches feel is significant — as, indeed, is the way that they each uniquely influence a composition’s melodic character. Outside of those welcomed legato patches, ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS has articulations aplenty — namely, LONG, LONG SFZ (Sforzando), STACCATISSIMO, STACCATO, TENUTO, and MARCATO, making for many musical flavorings.
It is not for nothing that ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS puts the same first-call players performing on globally successful movies at anyone’s fingertips — as, indeed, do all of Spitfire Audio’s acclaimed ABBEY ROAD ONE: FILM SCORING SELECTIONS series sample libraries. All are recorded by GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer Simon Rhodes (Avatar, Hugo, Harry Potter) — ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS has Mix 1 and Mix 2 available as a result, musically making use of Abbey Road Studios’ much-lauded microphones — making their presence felt on ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS as self-explanatory Vintage 1, Vintage 2, Pop Close, Pop Room, Close, Tree 1, Tree 2, Ambient, Outriggers, and Spill selections — and outboard gear that is clearly a one-of-a-kind collection. Audibly, ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS users are effectively entering the room most composers can only dream of — namely, Abbey Road Studios’ Studio One. Of course, Studio One is considered to be one of the finest acoustic spaces in the world, with its history having an indelible connection with the scores recorded there, embedding emotion, mood, and magic into many of the most renowned films ever made. Musical matches made in heaven, classics such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Avengers: Endgame were all recorded in Studio One. Thanks to its rich tonality and famed reverb, Studio One’s sound is widescreen and epic — truly the iconic sound of cinema.
“As you’ll be familiar with from the scores of John Williams, Alan Silvestri, and Jerry Goldsmith, the sound of eight players really packing a punch in Abbey Road [Studio] One is really something to behold.” So says Spitfire Audio co-founder Paul Thomson — truly no stranger to the wonderful world of film scoring himself as an English composer for film, television, and video games, as well as a music technologist to boot — before adding: “This section is also capable of the very gentle and lyrical stuff as well.” Which, of course, neatly sums up ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS itself. “It sounds superb — just great out of the box; it’s very easy to play as another fantastic selection from the ABBEY ROAD ONE: FILM SCORING SELECTIONS,” summarises the thrilled company co-founder.
By being performed and recorded in the unmistakable acoustics of Abbey Road Studios’ Studio One, ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS further enriches the already available offerings in the ABBEY ROAD ONE: FILM SCORING SELECTIONS orchestral range by commanding the forefront of instantly-playable instant cinema — right from the moment that the first patch is opened. After all, the horn has proven itself to be the irreplaceable heart of orchestral scoring, and ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS has taken its rightful place in Spitfire Audio’s acclaimed output of musical tools that are built to sound great and be exciting to use.
ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS is available as an AAX-, AU-, VST2-, and VST3-compatible, NKS (NATIVE KONTROL STANDARD®)-ready plug-in that loads directly into a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) at an attractive RRP (Recommended Retail Price) of only £49.00 GBP (inc. VAT)/$49.00 USD/€49.00 EUR (inc. VAT) from here: https://www.spitfireaudio.com/shop/a-z/abbey-road-one-thematic-horns/
ABBEY ROAD ONE: THE COLLECTION, comprising all nine ABBEY ROAD ONE: FILM SCORING SELECTIONS series sample libraries to date — namely, the inaugural ABBEY ROAD ONE: ORCHESTRAL FOUNDATIONS, plus the ABBEY ROAD ONE: SPARKLING WOODWINDS, ABBEY ROAD ONE: LEGENDARY LOW STRINGS, ABBEY ROAD ONE: WONDROUS FLUTES, ABBEY ROAD ONE: GRAND BRASS, ABBEY ROAD ONE: VIBRANT REEDS, ABBEY ROAD ONE: MYSTERIOUS REEDS, ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC TRUMPETS, and ABBEY ROAD ONE: THEMATIC HORNS followup releases, is available as a series of AAX-, AU-, VST2-, and VST3-compatible, NKS-ready plug-ins that load directly into a DAW at an attractive RRP of only £791.00 GBP (inc. VAT)/$841.00 USD/€841.00 EUR (inc. VAT) — representing a substantial saving when priced against purchasing all seven sample libraries individually, and available as such until the next ABBEY ROAD ONE: FILM SCORING SELECTIONS series sample library is launched — from here: https://www.spitfireaudio.com/shop/a-z/abbey-road-one-the-collection/

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC: music production and audio processing advanced tools maker MeldaProduction is proud to announce the availability of MTurboAmp — (currently) comprising around 30 amp heads and a dozen distortion pedals (with more being added all the time, as is always its creator’s way), with detailed editing and an ability to create custom virtual amps and distortion pedals from scratch as the ultimate amp simulator and distortion machine-making plug-in package — as of June 21…
As implied by another appropriate moniker, MTurboAmp follows in the flexible footsteps of MeldaProduction’s must-have MTurbo… prefixed plug-ins packaging different groups of unique devices — namely, MTurboComp (19-plus vintage-style compressors in one plug-in package), MTurboDelay (40-plus delay plug-ins in one package), and MTurboReverb (100-plus reverbs in one plug-in package). Put it this way: with around 30 different amp heads (and more being added all the time), MTurboAmp assuredly has what it takes to be billed as the ultimate amp simulator — servicing clean jazz sounds to vintage rock, as well as those needing something a little harder or high gain for an extended range instrument — and distortion machine — making available a dozen pedals and other unique devices to boot.
But on the off-chance that it does not already have whatever it is that most guitar tone tweak-freaks could conceivably be looking for straight out of the box, MTurboAmp far from stops at only offering a simple amp knob-turning experience, effectively offering access to the ‘guts’ of any amp model — mouse becomes soldering iron, in other words — to change any parameter setting. Surely it is already a dream come true for every guitar tone tweak-freak?
For those who want to take things even further, however, MTurboAmp’s ability to create custom virtual amps and distortion pedals from scratch should seriously satisfy. It is perfectly possible for users to think about what they would do differently to the original classic hardware designs that have been so meticulously modeled by MeldaProduction in order to create original amps like no other, where imagination is the only limit when it comes to creating signature, one-of-a-kind sounds! Ultimately, users of MTurboAmp are able to create custom virtual amps using an advanced ten-band dynamic INPUT EQ and OUTPUT EQ, each with HP (high-pass) and LP (low-pass) filters, though the core of any amp module creation comes courtesy of a nine-stage DISTORTION creator.
Clearly, any custom-created virtual amps are likely to sound good, given MeldaProduction’s proven track record, but being good-looking would likely be a bonus in the eyes of most MTurboAmp users — and, evidently, MeldaProduction, too. The Custom GUI Designer, therefore, allows MTurboAmp users to create good-looking devices, choosing freely from an array of knobs, switches, LEDs, sliders, and buttons — predesigned or imported.
It is fair to say, though, that any amp head — custom created or otherwise — and distortion pedal might still need something extra when pursuing perfect guitar tones. After all, no stack is complete without a cabinet, which is why MTurboAmp is designed to be used in conjunction with what is truly the most advanced cab simulation around MeldaProduction’s MCabinet (https://meldaproduction.com/MCabinet). But better still, MCabinet is discounted by 50% — to €49.00 EUR (inc. VAT) — until the end of July 2022 in celebration of MTurboAmp’s availability as the ultimate amp simulator and distortion machine-making plug-in package, which is definitely a dream come true for every guitar tone tweak-freak around!

To enable more users to meet the rising demand for Atmos® mixing, IK is releasing a new iLoud MTM Immersive Bundle. Available now with 11 speakers, this bundle offers incredible performance at an affordable price point, allowing anyone to dive into producing for immersive audio. With their compact size, iLoud MTMs are easy to mount or can be quickly installed on any standard microphone stand for use in environments where permanent mounting isn’t an option.
Immersive Audio for Every Space
With the explosion of spatial audio, studios of all sizes need to implement multichannel monitoring, from 5.1 surround to 7.1.4 and beyond. The Dolby Audio Room Design Tool is an interactive Microsoft Excel tool that allows the user to input speaker layout dimensions, speaker locations, and speaker and amplifier details to help design and model a Dolby Atmos® Home Entertainment configuration to Dolby recommendations.
iLoud MTM’s inclusion makes it easier than ever to set up a compact system that’s fully compliant with Dolby’s technical guidelines. Whether it’s for a commercial studio, home setup, or home theater system, iLoud MTM delivers award-winning, studio-grade audio to every space.
Readily Adjusts to Any Position
Using the included MEMS measurement microphone, iLoud MTM’s acclaimed built-in ARC self-calibration system adjusts in seconds, correcting each one’s output to ensure the most precise and balanced sound from every position, including ceiling-mounting. The result is a true phase-coherent response across the useful frequency spectrum for unbelievably natural sound.
Point-source Acoustical Performance
iLoud MTM is ideal for multichannel installations being linear phase and having a point-source acoustic performance to be accurate at any distance. This minimizes the inaccuracies that conventional speakers can introduce in the imaging, which is critical for multichannel and immersive setups.
Reduced Acoustic Interaction
iLoud MTM’s mid-woofer-tweeter-mid-woofer design boasts dramatically more controlled dispersion than typical designs. This minimizes the speakers’ interaction with room acoustics (and each other), making them ideal for rooms not custom-tuned for surround audio.
Lighter, Smaller, and Easy to Mount
Just as importantly, iLoud MTM monitors make setting up a multichannel rig easy. At 30 to 50% smaller and lighter than comparable studio monitors, users will find setup a breeze in any size room. In addition, the iLoud MTM’s threaded bottom allows them to be mounted on a standard microphone stand or boom stand to best suit the listening environment or when space doesn’t permit ceiling mounting.
Pricing and Availability
The iLoud MTM Immersive Bundle 11 is available now from the IK Multimedia online store and from IK authorized dealers worldwide:
iLoud MTM Immersive Bundle 11 $/€3999.99 – Includes 11 x iLoud MTM monitors, 1 x ARC MEMS measurement microphone.

LONDON, UK: created in close collaboration with (Dame) Evelyn Glennie, the world’s premier solo percussionist, Spitfire Audio is proud to release RESONATE as a cinematic percussion library that really resonates like no other — on account of unlocking the other-worldly mystery, magic, and tension of orchestral percussion’s power of resonance, realised from tuned and untuned instruments colliding across 14 signals, then spinning out towards new frontiers of texture, tone, and dimension as hits, strikes, and spine-tingling scrapes giving way to essential cinematic reverberations, carefully captured in the hallowed (Lyndhurst) Hall at London’s legendary AIR Studios so favoured by Hollywood, helpfully housed in the British sound-specialising music technology company’s award-winning plug-in (AAX-, AU-, VST2-, and VST3-compatible, NKS-ready) that loads into all major DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) without the need for any additional software to feature for the first time the likes of a water tank, thunder sheet, timpani (played like never before), and barrel drum acting as resonators so every impact has a memory — as of June 9…
As a really resonating introduction to the sound adventure that is RESONATE, Spitfire Audio in-house composer Lucie Treacher’s insight is obviously on the mark, musically speaking: “A traditional sample library is often about sampling things in isolation, but what if we were to let our instruments interact, resonate, and collide together? What if, for instance, we were to put a thunder sheet over a barrel and bow it? Evelyn Glennie is a virtuoso percussionist and educator, and she’s always been a huge influence to me, coming from a similar neck of the woods in the north of Scotland. She’s on a mission to teach the world to listen, and she herself experiences sound through vibrations in different parts of her body. RESONATE really is alive with resonances as a percussion library that’s beyond rhythm. It’s about color and performance, and Evelyn Glennie conjured these incredible sound landscapes. We’ve used technology and warps to elongate these sounds and bring out the quirks and magic in these performances. This library’s great for refreshing your existing orchestral palette, but it also adds individuality to epic scores and blends brilliantly with cutting-edge sound design — think Hildur Guðnadóttir and Johan Johansson.”
Such superlative Scandinavian sound design deserves mentioning, as does the fact that half the magic of sound itself has been disregarded for years. After all, films and trailers have delivered gigantic hits in epic technicolor but neglected the essence of percussion’s power: resonance. Reality dictates that a real orchestral strike lives on long after the initial impact dies away — in reverberations that rumble, pierce, rattle, and sing. Such aftershocks have the power to thrill and terrify, lure and intrigue in equal measure, and now — thanks to RESONATE — they are readily available, at anyone’s fingertips.
Fortunately, by working with Dame Evelyn Glennie as the world’s premier solo percussionist with over 100 international awards to her notable name so far (including the Polar Music Prize and the Companion of Honour), Spitfire Audio has been able to release RESONATE as a cinematic percussion library that really resonates like no other — on account of unlocking the other-worldly mystery, magic, and tension of orchestral percussion’s power of resonance, realized from tuning and untuned instruments colliding across 14 signals, then spinning out towards new frontiers of texture, tone, and dimension as hits, strikes, and spine-tingling scrapes giving way to essential cinematic reverberations, carefully captured in the hallowed (Lyndhurst) Hall at London’s legendary AIR Studios so favored by Hollywood. However, rather than replicate common concert sounds or repeat trailer hits Hollywood has so overused, RESONATE explores and unlocks the boundless potential of orchestral percussion — from first strike to final reverberation, resulting in a treasury of sounds that beautifully bridge the gap between traditional and experimental scores.
Saying that, then, the instruments involved in RESONATE’s canny creation and elegant execution will willingly assist anyone with bringing brazen audacity to straight-ahead orchestral tracks, while dialing up the epic on music that is already uniquely theirs at the same time. The resulting sounds can be used to conjure up strange new rhythms of sci-fi worlds, the propulsive rush of relentless thrillers, and the surreal passion of lives lived with full hearts — users need only channel Evelyn Glennie’s glorious ethic of percussion-without-preconceptions. Put it this way: whereas other instrument libraries help users to realize the scores already in their heads, RESONATE inspires its users to discover those scores that they could never dream up in silence. So, rather than following the musical masses’ well-trodden hit-then-hit pathway, RESONATE’s instruments impel its users to take an alternative hit-then-listen route — making music out of the forgotten sounds left dancing on the air, in other words.
Which instruments are involved in RESONATE’s canny creation and elegant execution, exactly? Explains Spitfire Audio in-house composer Lucie Treacher: “The library is actually divided by the resonators — the vessels if you like — over which the instruments have been played. There is a TIMPANI here, but it has not strictly been played; Evelyn Glennie has put her homemade BARIMBULUM on top of it, and let the instruments resonate together. The BARREL resonator’s Ensemble patch condenses its Drum, Metal, Bowed, and Wooden samples into three handy kits — BARREL KIT, METAL KIT, and SUPERBOWL KIT. Something that’s really nice about these kits is that the cymbal-like sounds are mapped to the black notes, so it feels like you’re playing a drum kit — sort of reaching upwards and outwards, which is quite ergonomically pleasing. The SUPERBOWL… is, of course, a mallet which you can drag across a surface of an instrument, and it creates an incredible wail — you can really hear that sweet stillness around the sound.”
Exact examples notwithstanding, THUNDERSHEET — think razor-sharp crescendos, hollow gongs, and quivering cries — and WATERTANK — with thin crashes, deep quakes, and organically pitch-shifting resonators — are also available, likewise paired, stacked, struck, and bowed with many other co-resonating instruments to create an unparalleled collection of cinematic hits, scrapes, textures, and tones. Thereafter, those 49 techniques and pairings — launched themselves towards infinite layers of dimension — are sent by RESONATOR down 14 possible signal paths, both organic and treated, including seven unique mic perspectives (such as underwater placement, contact mics attached to resonating chambers, and boundary mics spread throughout Lyndhurst Hall), before being filtered through six possible after-effects, including a stretch feature for long sustained sounds (solely), allowing users to change the playback SPEED of the sample. Well worth mentioning is RESONATOR’s GRID mode, making for a welcomed collaborative tool, whereby users can discover and combine thousands of sound permutations to create a sonorous ensemble of endless inspiration.
It is surely only fitting for Lucie Treacher to provide an ardent closing commentary that is as appropriate as her heartfelt opener: “RESONATE is a really unique library, and it’s immersed in Evelyn Glennie’s individuality as a musician. It’s sure to give your sound palette a lot of sophistication, and it’s really amazing to have her performances at your fingertips. You can really hear her passion as a performer in every strike.” After all, every impact has a memory.

ECHT, THE NETHERLANDS: Rob Papen Inspiration Soundware is proud to promote its 25th anniversary as an award-winning virtual instrument and effect plug-in developer by generously gifting RP-PAN to anyone for free as an all-new plug-in featuring creative panning effects, as well as appropriately applying a 25% discount to any of its other plug-ins and associated upgrades purchased throughout June 2022…
RP-PAN is, indeed, available to anyone for free as a generous gift from Rob Papen, promoting its 25th anniversary as an award-winning virtual instrument and effect plug-in developer, yet to simply see it as ‘freeware’ falls short of the mark. It is only fitting, therefore, that its introduction to the musical masses should come directly from founder Rob Papen himself: “This free plug-in has been created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rob Papen brand, and is highly useful for creating panning or Doppler effects in your music or post-production.”
Put it this way: the central position of Rob Papen has always been to create plug-ins that truly reflect thinking outside of the box, an admirable attribute that has always panned out well for the brand. Plug-in puns apart, and regardless of it being generously gifted to anyone for free, RP-PAN ultimately upholds this tradition by allowing its users to apply some very creative panning effects to audio or instrument tracks. The panning ‘sphere’ can be used to manually record pan movements between left and right in the stereo field. Furthermore, things get even more interesting when using the SPRING BACK TIME and SPRING BACK DESTINATION features, allowing that ‘sphere’ to precisely bounce back to the CENTER, LEFT, or RIGHT positions in true tempo-based fashion. But
beyond regular panning effects, Rob Papen has also added DOPPLER effects — themselves not suited to tempo-based sounds — and a LAZY MODE for automated panning movements or other experimental panning effects, as well as avoiding any muscle pain possibly arising from multiple manual panning movements! It is fair to say, though, that no Rob Papen plug-in would be deemed worthy of the notable name without the easy-to-use BANK manager that has become the award-winning virtual instrument and effect plug-in developer’s trademark — as, of course, have its plentiful presets. RP-PAN is no exception to this unwritten rule — regardless of being generously gifted by Rob Papen to anyone for free!
It is worth reflecting on Rob Papen’s 25th-anniversary milestone that ultimately led to RP-PAN. Rob Papen himself started out as an artist back in the Eighties, working with the Dutch electronic music groups Peru and Nova. Needless to say, he gravitated towards sound design with well-known synthesizer brands in the Nineties, having had a hand in producing classic sound cards for Waldorf’s wavetable marvel, Microwave, followed by factory presets — always designated by the initials RP — for Access’ Virus virtual analog synthesizer, E-mu’s Emulator III sampler plus Proteus 2000 and Orbit 3 sample-playback modules, and Ensoniq’s ASR-10 sampler. Fast-forwarding to the advent of VST (Virtual Studio Technology), Rob Papen moved beyond simply developing presets for other people’s virtual instrument plug-ins in favor of realizing a complete concept for what would become the renowned Rob Papen brand of today. The first custom VST instrument designed by Rob Papen — developed by Linplug — was (the now discontinued) Albino. Although an instant success, Rob Papen wanted to take things further, forming the RPCX (Rob Papen ConcreteFX) partnership with a talented coder called Jon Ayres in 2006. That software dream team expanded soon after to include programmer Jacek Kusmierczyk, responsible for creating Mac versions of all Rob Papen products and overseeing PRISMA as an advanced utility plug-in that allows any Rob Papen product owner to stack (up to four) of their virtual instruments as a single so-called ‘prismatic’ sound source. Several individuals are notably involved behind the scenes helping to make the Rob Papen brand what it is, including in-house sound designer JoMal, creating cool product presets; Hans van Even, responsible for most GUI (Graphical User Interface) designs; Richard Hider (a.k.a. TONAL AXiS), who helps out on several tasks; and last, but not least, Rob Papen’s son, Mike, and wife, Marion, who assist at the company’s home-based headquarters — not forgetting, of course, all authorized Rob Papen distributors and resellers worldwide, without whom the 25th-anniversary milestone might never have happened.
As it happened, however, the award-winning virtual instrument and effect plug-in developer has many products to its notable name that are musically much loved by both professionals and hobbyists alike, so what better way to celebrate achieving that 25th-anniversary milestone than by generously gifting RP-PAN to anyone for free as an all-new plug-in featuring creative panning effects, as well as appropriately applying a 25% discount to any of its other plug-ins and associated upgrades purchased throughout June 2022.
“By the way, if you click on RP-PAN’s Rob Papen logo, the homepage opens, and there you can discover many other exciting Rob Papen plug-ins.” So says Rob Papen himself by way of an appropriate celebratory closing comment if ever there was one! On the face of it, then, there has never been a better time than now to purchase any of those exciting Rob Papen plug-ins — or associated upgrades — and enjoy a (time-limited) 25% discount in celebration of Rob Papen’s 25th-anniversary milestone.
RP-PAN 2 is available as a 64-bit AAX-, AU-, VST- and VST3-compatible effect plug-in for Mac (OS X 10.13 – macOS 12) and as a 32- and 64-bit VST- and VST3-compatible effect plug-in for PC (Windows 7/8/10/11) — with 64-bit AAX compatibility available for PT 12 or higher (PC) — for free from Rob Papen as a download directly from here: https://www.robpapen.com/get-RP-PAN.html

About Rob Papen (www.robpapen.com)
Self-confessed synth freak and world-renowned sound designer Rob Papen started working with synthesizers at the tender age of 15 when purchasing an analog Korg MS-20 semi-modular monosynth and accompanying analog SQ-10 sequencer. Suitably inspired, he subsequently released several albums as part of Dutch electronic music groups Peru and Nova — the latter featuring the same members as Peru, but with a more commercial slant — with whom he enjoyed number one hit singles in The Netherlands (Nova) in 1982 and Austria (Peru) in 1988. Peru disbanded in 1993, by which time Rob had already established himself as a sought-after sound designer, creating presets for the likes of Waldorf, Access, Ensoniq, and E-mu, before going on to found his namesake company in pursuit of creating a sound designer’s dream synth. That software dream soon became reality when Rob formed the RPCX (Rob Papen ConcreteFX) partnership with music software developer Jon Ayres to develop new Rob Papen virtual instruments and effects plug-ins, starting with BLUE — an exciting-sounding, self-styled ‘Crossfusion Synthesis’ affair (combining FM, Phase Distortion, Wave Shaping, and Subtractive synthesis into one powerful dream synth) — in 2005. Today Rob Papen soundware defines cutting-edge contemporary music production: powerful virtual instruments and effect plug-ins that intermix innovative design, uncompromising sound quality, and musical, production-grade presets to make tracks truly shine, whatever the musical genre… Inspiration Soundware, indeed!
